Great Coverage for dry or normal skin, oily skin beware!
This has an amazing full coverage, it can even cover tattoos. For those with dry or normal skin who want full coverage or need something to combat discolorations, imperfections, or break outs, use this! But, for people with oily skin, stay away! Even if it's set with powder afterwards and then re-set constantly with blotting powder (and i mean constantly, like every 30 minutes) it will still look cakey and smudged.
Not great for oily skin
I was pretty disappointed in this foundation given all the great reviews its gotten - I was looking for a great full coverage foundation that was easier to apply than a liquid since I often put my makeup on at work. Sadly, this foundation seems to break up and fall apart on oily skin. It doesn't last the day on me at work, which is a bummer because the coverage is great. I also noticed that it has a kind of unpleasant smell - chemically and hard to get past.

A favorite for years!
I have enjoyed this foundation for many years. I first tried it when a MUA suggested it at the MAC counter at my local Dillards. It is long last, comfort, doesn't make me break out and covers the redness I get on my cheeks. It's my go to foundation for the fall or winter.
If your looking for a great full coverage foundation then this is definitely it ( especially for darker women). However if you have oily or combination skin this is not for you unless you have a really great primer ( which still only gives minor help). The other problem I have with this is that it tends to turn a bit orange after awhile, yet again while Mac's products are great they need a better shade range for person like me who are in between nc45 and nc50
I love this foundation. If you have dry skin this foundation was made for you.
It's really creamy and it gives you full coverage. It will cover up most flaws and the staying power is great . I wouldn't use this foundation in the summer because it would just melt off.
Gives a beautiful glow!
I am a NC40 in Studio Fix Fluid and I was finding it to be too matte (it emphasized my pores), so I decided to try Studio Tech. I am a NC43 in Studio Tech (NC40 & 42 were too peach). Last time I tried Studio Tech my skin was oily and it was not a good combination because it made me break out (because of the wax ingredient). My skin is now normal/dry and it works beautifully. It gives my skin a glowing, flawless appearance. I would say it is a light to medium coverage foundation at most. This is currently my go-to foundation.
not for oily/combination/sensitive skin
The good: it gives seamless, even and flawless coverage. The bad: It clogs the pores and broke me out really bad. I also tends to oxidize on me and feel heavy/sticky. This might be good for dry skin but for oily, combination or sensitive type of skin, it's not. This isn't good for people living in humid or hot conditions.
I was given NC20 for foundation even though they've always given me NW20 for concealer. It covered well for photos but in real life you could still see traces of my blemishes and slid off when sweaty. I'd try it again when my skin gets clearer to see if the coverage wasn't as disappointing.
