Okay so heres the thing, the color swatches online dont look how they do in real life... but to me I think the colors I have look nicer and I love them. I use them all the time. They don't dry out my lips and they have great color pay off. The only thing that might bother people are the smell, but that doesn't both me at all. I cant wait to get more.
I wish I could send it in a time machine to my high school self
I remember how much I searched for the perfect, inexpensive nude lipstick...I mean really nude lipstick. It seemed like I'd always end up with shades that are too shimmery, too pink, too dry, etc.
This lipstick would have been absolutely perfect. The Natural Nymph shade is very light in tone, none-shimmery, not dry, nothing crazy...just perfectly nude. And if doesn't show any sign of being cheap, except for the price! Would pair great with a smoky eye.
The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because, though it's a great lipstick, I'm mostly gushing over the shade, which is objective.
I wish I bought another color...
...but I bought this online on their website, so I didn't know that the swatches weren't true to color. Its more coral than I thought it would be, so this ended up sitting in my train case. BUT it does glide on nicely, and has staying power for a lipstick that cost under five dollars. I don't heart this lipstick, but I don't hate it either. I think I would like it better if I had a different shade.
Nicely pigmented and very hydrating
These lipsticks are really great. There is a nice variety of colours. The pigmentation is good and it feels good on the lips.
Packaging is nice, but if you have more than one shade of these it can be har to tell them apart without opening them.
Really great for the price.
Creamy, Long-Lasting Nude Brown Color, Maybe Too Neutral, Flimsy Packaging
Probably one of e.l.f's more impressive products, their Mineral Lipsticks are surprisingly creamy and glide on application especially compared to their Essentials Lipsticks, which are dry and drag over the lips. The pigmentation appears standard for a drugstore lipstick, maybe two coats will bring out its true color.
The packaging is elegantly minimalist for a drugstore lipstick as well. Though it looks great, the quality of their lipstick packaging seems to vary, as I have another one of these lipsticks in Cool Coral that has a sturdier lipstick case than my Bare Brown lipstick, of which the bullet casing is audibly loose if shaken. The closing mechanism also feels too loose. I worry about taking the Bare Brown lipstick with me as I am afraid of the packaging will fall apart in my bag.
As for the color Bare Brown, I enjoy that it is a neutral everyday shade that works out great for medium skin tones. For those who have hyper-pigmented lips, Bare Brown can neutralize the pigmentation and soften the look of your lips. However, for those whose lips don't have much pigmentation to begin with, Bare Brown may be so neutral brown that it makes your lips look lifeless. I compared it to Maybelline's Color Sensational Lipstick in Totally Toffee, which is a slightly drier, less creamier formula than e.l.f.'s Mineral Lipsticks. The two colors are very similar, except that I find that I like Maybelline's Totally Toffee over e.l.f's Bare Brown due to the Totally Toffee having a hint of warmth in it; it appears much more natural and less made-up.
But to reiterate, I do recommend this shade of e.l.f.'s Mineral Lipsticks for lips that are highly pigmented and need to be more neutralized. Because the formula is also creamy and long-wearing, I also highly recommend this lipstick for those with dry lips such as myself.
I have this in the color "Nicely Nude"
Yet another AMAZING e.l.f lipstick!
The color is very matte but not dry look at all. I really love the smoothness and non sticky feel of this lipstick. Needless to say, I bought 4 more! It nourishes and soothes my lips. The lasting power- Eh. I had to re apply often, but i didnt mind re applying ;) i love this!
soft matte baby pink
I love this! I know some people said it wasn't what they expected from the site's image, but I googled it first and it was exactly what I was looking for. I use UD lip primer underneath it, and it dries perfectly matte on me. Not a very good 'nude' for my skin tone, but a nice (pale) baby pink.
Perfect Dark Nude Color for WOC!
I have been on the hunt for a really nice, nude color that brings out the brown in my skin and this lipstick definitely does the trick! It is a brown with slight red/orange undertones, but nothing too noticeable. I have had my eye on Bare Brown for a while and finally decided to get it last month. It glides on smoothly and I can't believe I'm saying this, but almost as smoothly as the NYX round lipsticks in my opinion. I think that the "mineral" aspect of this lipstick makes it glide on as smooth as it does, especially compared to the essential lipstick line by e.l.f. I think you get a nice range of color options. When I saw the packaging for this I died because it was so AMAZING. It's so sleek and black and the best packaging by e.l.f! The price is $6 which is expensive for e.l.f, but I think it's totally worth it!

Excellent color payoff
I have 3 of these I think. I can't remember for sure. I ordered colors I wouldn't normally buy for lipsticks bc they're cheap. the color pay off is excellent, but they don't really look the same in person as they do on-line. My shades were much darker and looked really similar in person. Also 2 out of the 3 were broken. I'd buy them again, but make sure to find swatches on line on someones blog or something before diving in and purchasing.
Didn't Quite Get What I Was Expecting...
The lipstick itself is of pretty good quality. I would prefer a little longer wear, but the formula is nice and creamy and the pigmentation is great. My issue is that the picture on the website was nothing like the shade I actually got. Which sucks, because I LOVED the shade shown in the picture, and what I got was pretty much the exact shade as one of my NYX lipsticks. Overall, I'll definitely buy more of these...I'll just be sure to do it at Target and NOT online.
