Gorgeous olive shade

I discovered Cover FX and their line of products due to their olive shades so I immediately bought this pressed foundation and the corresponding shade in the Power Play concealer. They have nailed the olive undertones which is quite rare still for many lines.

I am very impressed with this formulation, it matches my medium olive skin perfectly, doesn’t turn orange throughout the day and it is buildable. It definitely applies sheer therefore looks natural but it can be built up. It evens out my skin tone and redness. I use the concealer on blemishes and then a light wash of this over the top and my base is done. It feels light, controls my oil throughout the day but can get dewy towards the end of the day (which I quite like). I’m happy with this over liquid foundations and highly recommend if you’re looking for a quick application that evens out skin tone. Great value for money as I’ve barely made a dent in this compact after 2 months.

I would liken this to the MAC Studio Fix Powder (I use C35) another of my favourites.

Tricky to work with

I've had a compact of this foundation for a very long while and have been using it off and on. I've hit pan on it, but at this point I don't think I would repurchase. I find it very difficult to get this foundation to work with certain primers and skincare products--if I don't use the right combination of products (including the right brush), I find that this product doesn't blend well and will sometimes bunch up in odd places. Also if I try to build it up too much, it can tend to look cakey. When I do have a good day with this foundation it looks very smooth, but it also has a strange texture to the touch that almost feels weirdly sticky and heavy on my face...overall with all the cons and with all the effort it takes to get this foundation to look good, I don't really recommend it unless you have a simple routine and maybe you don't layer a bunch of skincare/primers like I do before applying makeup.

Not build able enough

I was hoping this powder foundation would’ve been more like MACs studio fix powder plus foundation. Also it did not blend well at all

Not obsessed

The product is okay (I definitely chose too light for my complexion) but the cheaply made packaging irritates me the most. To be honest I wish I spent the extra $2 and bought Becca, this wasn't worth it for me.

Replaced my studio fix

I was looking for a crueltyfree replacement for my Mac studio fix powder. This not only replaced it but is waaay better. The shade range is fantastic. the powder is finely milled and is undetectable on the skin. I have dry skin and this doesn't cling to any patches. Overall fantastic powder!!

Great for my dry skin.

I have mostly dry skin with a super oily nose. I love this foundation so much because it's fast functional, and easy to build. It's a powder of course so it does get a bit dry if I don't use a setting spray after I'm done applying makeup. My favorite trick for this powder though is to spray my sponge with my setting spray and then press the sponge onto my face once I've finished all my makeup (blush, bronzer extra.) It gives it such a beautiful dewy finish and just melds all of my blush and bronzer into on beautiful seamless look. It's so natural and perfect for work, and I don't need a powder highlight to achieve that dewy youthful skin look.

I have second thoughts

This powder is ok. I was not wow over it. I wear mac studio fix plus powder in C4. This color G40 was a tad dark and G30 would be a tad light. This mineral powder actually makes me look dull. I love powder foundations and have quite different brands but this one is not for me.

Great long lasting powder foundation

This is my favorite powder foundation, and the most effective one I've found for my combination skin. It looks slightly dry upon first applying if I forget to use primer/moisturize, but my natural face oils always get it to a perfect consistency soon enough. It makes my skin look practically photoshopped after utilizing it; I don't bother using concealer on my pimples when I put it on. The longevity after initial application is also noteworthy.

This is my fave pressed foundation, I can't recommend this enough... Great coverage, and it feels light. It looks like my skin tone which is AMAZING!! As it literally impossible to find the right tone with my skin color...
