What's up with the smell?
Pros: It did make my shadow more vivid and it did help them last longer. There also wasn't any creasing.
Cons: It caked up terribly under my eyes when I attempted to use it as a concealer. It just did not seem to work with my skin. What stops me from buying more though, is the smell. It's awful, not even because of how it smells (which is like paint, if you're wondering), but because of how strongly it smells. I thought I might've purchased one that had been on the shelf too long or something, but a friend bought one from another store and had the same issue.
ALL TIME FAVORITE PRIMER
I used to be obsessed with MAC's paint pot until I came upon a Benefit Gift set and tried Stay Dont Stray. This has been by far the best eyeshadow primer I have used and I dont know if I will ever try another. I love the consistancy as it is easy to blend yet still hold my shadows all day long, I love this concealer!
my favorite primer
I've tried the Urban Decay primer, and the Too Faced Primers, I liked them both a lot.
This one won me over because the color corrects my dark circles for one, and for two, it acts as a whole eye primer.
I don't need any additional priming, I prime my eyes, then my face. I prime the entire area around my eyes. They are then ready for concealer, eyeliner, mascara, shadow, everything! It locks it in and sets it for the day.
Colors are brighter and truer, and there is no creasing, no color transfer, and lots of lovely!
The downside is the retarded air pump packaging. It's pump has come off several times, and you have to pump VERY CAREFULLY or it dispenses WAY too much product, everywhere. It's gross, and a waste of money. I love this stuff though, it's worth the extra expense to me.
This was nice on my lids where the Urban Decay was not actually. The Urban Decay caused some crepe paper like wrinkles in my lids, made me look older then I am unnaturally. I didn't like it, this stuff doesn't do any of that. Urban Decay also dried out my lids and I don't have that problem with this primer either. I love it. Great stuff, I cannot recommend it enough!
It's not perfect, there are issues, I'm not sure if they are fixable issues though, I have them with any primer. Problems with my concealer creasing, or with my eyeliner traveling just a little, or mascara pigment transfer, but that happens with every brand no matter what I do. I think this stuff is pretty great, it's my go-to primer :)

from the Full Glam Ahead kit
I had wanted to get something from Benefit for eons, once my makeup obsession was in full swing. So on my second (I know, only second) Sephora trip, I had scouted out on online beforehand, some things from Benefit that were the most bang for my buck. After much agonizing I decided to get something from the 12 buck sale bins in the front of the store. I had previously decided to get the Full Glam Ahead set because I wanted to get a little sampler of some of their cult products.
Stay, Don't Stray was a catch for me, because I'm an eye primer addict (not as much now) and love trying them out. I've been using this primer more exclusively now, when I do my makeup, and there's definitely pros and cons. When I first opened the box it came in, I realized the sample/mini size was REALLY small. It had the doe foot applicator that I like, so that was a plus, and I've eventually realized that a little goes A LONG way, despite the fact the mini size looks so puny. This munchkin will last a long time, so looks can be deceiving. The small size is a definite pro- I can comfortably fit this baby in my MU train case, and its perfect for travel. Obviously the packaging is cute (it wouldn't be a Benefit product if it wasn't) with a screw on cap that is easily tightened. The product is beige, wet, and very creamy. Even if you were at your last drop there would still be many more uses, just scraping off product from the stem of the cap. I usually dab a dot on my lids and blend out, but I think its better to use the back of your hand as a palette, then apply. I've found that even if you think you're using the "right" amount, it still can be too much. I think I've experienced creasing with this because its so liquid-y and using just too much can upset that perfect primer balance. I liked using this as an under eye primer before my concealer, and on blemishes before concealer (and it does make for a regular concealer in itself, because of its nice texture alone), but in hindsight I might have experienced creasing under the eyes, which rarely, if ever happens with my preferred concealer alone. I do powder my whole face after face products- primed lids and all, so at least my lids were "dry". Of course there are always other determinants of how well a product delivers- outside circumstances. I probably should have used way less primer, used my hand as a palette, and a dozen other things.
To compare with my UDPP, even using "too much" of the UDPP rarely ever lead to creasing. The UDPP is much tackier than the ultra lush and creamy SDS, so that may explain why even in the most rushed mornings too much primer never becomes a concern. All in all, I'm glad I got this product, but it does take time to feel it out and make it work for you. I'm not sure I would recommend this over UDPP or some other cult eye primer/base because of its few drawbacks, but it would be fun to try in a sampler, like I did.
Eyeshadows last longer
This has been my long-time eyeshadow primer. It has a great texture that dries clear and brightens up. Eyeshadows applied along with Stay Don't Stay last longer and don't crease. Plus it enhances the color of the eyeshadow itself.
I love this primer, it holds my eye make up very well. I have very dark circles under my eyes and it covers them perfectly and looks natural on my pale skin.
Really creamy & enjoyable
I really liked the primer! I use it all the time and it really does hold on my make up on. I have read a couple of reviews and have done some research and sometimes the lack of awesome comes from the type of skin a person has which sucks but I guess it can't be for everyone. It makes a great concealer too and gives you an extra cover up on those tough spots.
Didn't live up to the hype
I used this sparingly and set it with a light dusting of translucent powder. After only an hour of wear I was horrified to find that my concealer had settled into my creases and then would. not. budge. Not exactly what I had in mind when they said my concealer would stay put.
Great Concealer Helper!
I was really surprised at how great this was at concealing the imperfections of my lids and counteracting my dark circles. Adding this to my concealer routine gives me full coverage! Full review & swatches at http://amberlikes.blogspot.com/2012...
