FAQ
Q: are you "ok" ?A: i think you mean, "am i cancer free?" ...
... well, technically, "they" tell me that i am indeed in "remission" from stage 3 breast cancer.
...though what is "ok," anyway? for i don't feel "ok" or like i'll ever truly be "cancer free." it's a part of my life, now.
...i AM doing much "better" - just moved. & have felt i NEEDed a clean slate in order to move on; have a fresh start. my full time job is still "surviving" - Living & Healing - though my goal is to THRIVE, not merely "survive" - i've come to loath that word...
...so i'm still on disability leave, ie: UNemployed, (for nearly 2years now,) & and need much help from others to support myself.
...since my diagnosis on feb 29, 2012, i have been going through intense treatments (which have left me damaged - physically, cognitively, emotionally, etc): (chemo, radical bilateral mastectomy, radiation, & innumerable others,) though there basically just one more big step / procedure remaining: to have my reconstructive surgery – though i've sorta become comfortable with my "frankentits™" ;)
... i'm def going to do some recon. Fake nipples, however, are still probably unlikely, which reminds me::

(i dream of changing the system - instead of a dr tattooing fake nipples, how about a real tattoo artist creating something beautiful, creative, and personal?!?! something celebrating & adorning one's body rather than merely attempting to pretend "it" didn't happen!! which is impossible, anyway!)

A: AH... good question! I could (& maybe just will!) write a BOOK on the topic.
I would LOVE to share my experiences & ideas & tips... in fact, i'd love to make a fulltime job out of this. I've SO many stories; SO many ideas... alas, INSPIRATION LIVES!*
