Beauty Product Reviews

LOVE Julep!!!

Julep has the best polish. I've pretty much stopped buying other polishes unless I find something unique.

The quality of the polish is wonderful. Most are opaque with coats. And they last well.

My favorites have been Alicia, a beautiful creme bright peach, and Trina, a gorgeous deep plummy shimmer.

There have only been a few misses in the year I've been a Julep Maven, but it's just been a personal preference, nothing has been wrong with the formula.

I've also been pleasantly surprised with the makeup products they sometimes send along with the monthly boxes. I'm disappointed that they don't have them to review on Beautylish. The Boho Glam lengthening mascara is my favorite mascara I've ever used. It doesn't clump or bother my sensitive, watery eyes.

If you're on the fence about getting the monthly boxes, I highly recommend them. You can always cancel, skip a month, or choose a different style every month if you don't like the polishes selected for yours.

Not the best.

This was one of the first concealers that I ever purchases. At first I thought it was great, but now that I have tried many others I am not too impressed. The coverage isn't that great. It doesn't wrinkle under my eyes but it doesn't help my really dark circles.

Eh

I don't get the hype. I was so excited to try this but it was huge let down!

My lips aren't that pigmented, but I saw almost no tint. I didn't find this moisturizing in the least. It made my lips wrinkly.

I don't recommend this at all.

At first I didn't like these. I bought it in Pomegranate this summer and I didn't notice much of a tint. I suppose it was too similar to my actual lip color. I also thought it was a little heavy on the lips. I ended up returning it and getting it in Quince. But, it just sit in my makeup case.

Now that it's the winter, my lips are horribly chapped. I live in the snowbelt. It's so windy and well, well below freezing. I ended up trying the lip butter because nothing else was working. My lips feel so much better! They aren't peeling and bleeding anymore.

I ended up buying a lip butter in Wild Rose tonight and it's a gorgeous color. I may even get one in a lighter color so I don't waste the two I have by using them at night.

The only thing I don't like is that it's potted. I feel like I am wasting product. Some ends up still on my fingers and not on my lips.

My go to lip product!

I have all of the potted Rosebud Salves. There's this one, the original Rosebud Salve, a Minted Rosebud balm, a Strawberry balm, and a Brambleberry Rose balm. I love them all. The original salve has the best scent. It's not an overpowering rose scent. I hate floral scents but this one is no perfume-y. They're all very sheer but the Minted Rose balm has the best (and most) color. And they really work on chapped lips. I live in the snowbelt and winter does a number on my lips. The salve is not sticky or greasy. I also love how you can use it for more then one thing. I keep it in my purse for emergencies. Sure, it's not my first choice to use on dry hands, but it works. I also use it on my cuticles and to tame flyaway hairs. I helps minor burns, like those from a flatiron or curling iron, too. This is my holy grail lip treatment and the perfect multitasker for when you're on the go.

I'm returning this!

I never return cosmetics (even though I should seeing as I have a huge box of things that I never really use...) but this is going back tomorrow. I had a really strange reaction to this balm. My lips felt raw about 30 minutes after putting it on. I couldn't get it off fast enough. And, it's so drying! It made my lips look wrinkle-y. I should have spend $10 more and gone with the Fresh Sugar lip balm.

Favorite lip products ever!

I have the Balm Stains in Lovesick (my favorite), Cherish, and Honey. I love them all and wear them constantly.

The colors, the texture, the moisturizing factor, the smell, the lasting time, all perfect!

The only thing that I don't like about these are the shade selection. I feel that there could be a light pink. lighter then Lovesick, that's not purple-y like Cherish or brown-ish like Honey. It would be nice is there was a truer red, too.

Love, love, love!

I the jumbo eyeshadow pencils in yogurt, french fries, and cashmere. I love them. I tend to wear two or there at a time and blend them. They stay on all day and they're a fantastic primer. I love them with the Naked Palette. I highly recommend!

Horrible smell!

I'm not sure if it was just the pencil that I bought, but it reeked of gasoline! It was the worst smelling makeup product I've come across. The color was stunning (ok maybe just a tad too shimmery) and it felt great on but I returned it straight away. What chemicals were I putting on my lips?!? I really wanted to like this for so many reasons, I just couldn't.

The first polish I owned!

When I was younger my mom bought me Sky, which I believe was the first Hard Candy product. It was the same light blue shiny polish that it is now. That's the polish that started my nail polish obsession. Awhile back I was in Walmart and I found Sky again. I still love it. It goes on great and has staying power. I also have Beetle with is just amazing!
