I'm a natural blonde (you can see prior pics of my hair color!) so what I did first was apply a lightener all over (using a powder bleach mixed with 10 vol developer), allowed it to lift me a little lighter. I then shampooed it out, and then used a deep conditioner. I waited a day before applying the pink color I mixed up, and after I applied that/let it process/shampooed it out, I did another deep conditioning treatment. It's important also to have leave in conditioners, UV sprays, and heat protectants. I use Pureology as my hair product line, and I use a mix of Pravana Rose & Pravana Magenta to get my pink color.
