Celebrity Braids Inspiration

  • 78

From the runway to the red carpet, the braid trend is here to stay. Whether tiny or teased, a plait can add texture to your hairdo and give a disheveled look some polish. Not to mention, it’s a great way to keep hair out of your face. So Beautylish rounded up the best braided styles today.

Milkmaid

By overlapping two braids at the top of her head, Marion Cotillard created an easy, polished effect. For a simple headband for longer locks, braid one section by your ear, cross the plait over your crown, and pin the ends behind the other ear. You can also add a pop of color by weaving a brightly patterned ribbon into the braid.

Multi-Braid Updo

No stranger to rocking a braided look, Nikki Reed layered three French braids with micro-plaits. Pinning her remaining loose strands with the braids above the nape of her neck created a fun and original style.

Half Up

Like wearing your tresses loose? Try braiding a small section on each side of your part and pinning them back at the crown, like Jessica Alba. For more advanced weavers, opt for a pretty waterfall braid on one side of your head

French-Braid Bun

Updating a classic childhood style, Sarah Michelle Gellar rocked double French braids on each side of her part. But instead of leaving the braids long, her ends were twisted into an elegant bun at the nape of her neck.

Side Braid

Blake Lively kept her fishtail braid lovely and loose by gently teasing the strands into more of a side-swept ponytail, which created a bohemian effect. For a neat and traditional style, simply braid all strands together tightly on one side.
