Dolce & Gabbana Takes Inspiration From the Runway For Their New Makeup Collection
Italian fashion house Dolce & Gabbana did their own runway to real way experiment this season by creating a collection for their The Makeup line that directly referenced their spring/summer 2011 clothing designs. Called Animalier, these limited edition products reflect the sexy and sophisticated aesthetic of Dolce & Gabbana, from the slinky animal prints to the sleek metallic accents. However, The Makeup is on the pricey side, so I decided to create my own Dolce & Gabbana inspired beauty look, using what I already had in my own kit.
Limited Edition Animalier Collection
The Animalier Summer 2011 Collection includes a range of products for face, eyes, lips and nails. The bronzer, blush, eyeshadow quads & duos all give summer its dewy and sun-kissed reputation. With such, I had to create a look that made me feel like I was at a gala showing off the tan I worked on while vacationing on the beach.
Focusing on mattes and shimmers, the eyes are defined by being intensified by a satin chocolate lid and soft light brows. Dramatic false lashes were applied to both top and bottom of the eyes. The skin I made dewy and coral by sweeping a light blush on the apples of my cheeks. It's possible to use what you have in your makeup bag without dishing up extra cash to look like a D&G ad, all you have to do is pull out those warm summer colors and get to work!
