Loathe or Love: Bling String

Looks like fisherman can have their feather lures back—there's a new hot hair trend in town! Bling String, the temporary tinsel hair extension, was the most buzzed about hair accessory at IMATS Los Angeles. These flamboyant extensions have adorned the locks of stars like Beyoncé and Real Housewives reality star Adrienne Maloof (we think it's little too much on her) and are super popular in Bollywood. But these holiday-inspired strands aren't for everyone, and they've certainly caused controversy over the past few months. We road-tested the metallic threads on the Beautylish team to see first-hand how these really look on different hair colors and textures. What do you think Beauties—is this trend gaudy or is hair bling here to stay?

They're cute on others but I would never wear them. They just look young and cheesy lol. I actually lmao @ bling string. It even sounds silly

These are cute-for little girls. I coach gymnastics and see a LOT of little ones come through with this in her hair

We got some of these last year. we never figured out how to put them in your hair to stay. :/ they look a bit cheap now that i look at it.

I'm really not a fan of these i think they are a fun idea for the little kid in us but they look cheap I agree with some of the other girls.

I would have to agree with Tasia R. it just looks cheap. I had a friend who had some of these put in her hair and it looked like my five year old sister attacked her with tinsel and glue...not a great look in my opinion.

I think this is a cute idea but my hair is so thick and easily tangles.

looks too cheap, I first saw them on the Real Housewives of Bev Hills and that Vegas wife always wears them and it just looks so tacky! UGH! It looks like those women just attended a 13 year olds bday bash! Not feelin' it but to each his own right?

I've had them and thought they were super cute - a few of the rainbow-y silver ones throughout my dark hair :)

I think it's a cute concept... but I still love my feathers. This seems a bit immature for my taste. Maybe if I was going out bar hopping or clubbing... or to a special event. But not everyday.

I don't think I would wear this as an everyday but, i think they would be great for clubbing or new years.
