im quite pale, i use studio gear matte foundation in 'bisque'. its perfect. Also Smashbox HD healthy fx foundations have a good selection of fair and light shades, and has had good coverage in my experience. A little goes a long way for both as well.
the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation is amazing! you should try it! i have just made a review on youtube..watch it. Truly an amazing foundation though! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TYq...
If I'm feeling a liquid foundation, I use Maybelline FIT. It has SPF so I know it'll protect my skin. It gives even, sheer coverage, so it doesn't make me look cakey. If I'm feeling a powder foundation, I use Rimmel London's Stay Matte. It goes on evenly and is long lasting. It works well on every skin type, too. Just have to use it lightly.
Carmina, I believe the Stay Matte by Rimmel is actually just a powder, right? I highly reccommend it to set your makeup, or to wear it alone to keep your skin from looking dull.

MAC and illumasqua. I use MAC personally. The Studio Tech is the only foundation I've ever found that is fair enough but provides good coverage.
