I just graduated from school, while in school I studied cosmetology. I'm in Love with makeup and its something that I really want to do as a career. I was just wondering if there's a special school for it. I've looked at some but most are only 6 weeks....are there longer ones? & I want the best. Thank you for taking your time to read this.
go on makeupmag.com
They have a whole section on makeup schools and on the right hand side you can click on your area.
Good luck! :)

I am self taught and have been working full time as a freelancer for sometime now. I didn't train formally as I couldn't afford to so I just kept practicing. It was hard at first as I didn't have the documentation to prove that I could do it, but I found some great photographers and worked with them for free to build up my portfolio and from there I've been able to make it my full time job. The laws regarding licensing and insurance are a little different from country to country, so check that out, but you clearly have the passion and drive to do it, so go for it!! I wish you the best of luck :)
My story is similar to Sophie's. Although I got a job at a cosmetic counter for 2 years, then joined MAC, who have been a wealth of knowledge in terms of what I have learned and the skills I have acquired. I have had many great opportunities come up, just takes time, dedication and hard work. All the best
