Hey Beauties!
When it comes to any kind of cover up, I'm a newbie. I always thought that hiding my acne under make-up would only make it worse, but my oily skin and acne scars need to go (temporarily, at least.) As of right now, I'm only using Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Face Powder. When I first put it on it does a good job of keeping my face matte, but in only a couple of hours I start to get a shine and most of it comes off. I need good, inexpensive make-up that can do a good job at keeping my face oil free, hide acne/scars, or make them less visible, and also won't make my acne worse. Oh, and most of all, stay on for most of the day!
Suggestions are greatly appreciated! :)
I have an acne coverage video if you want to check it out! Its what i do everyday to cover my acne, redness and scarring. I used to use the Neutrogena Skin Clearing foundation and that works great! You can find it at any drugstore and the powder in that line works great too! It stays pretty much all day!
i've tried a lot of different primers and i was looking for one that works well under mineral makeup. my favorite works under liquid or powder foundation and it is by mally. i got it from beauty.com
hun u get wat u pay for. cheap = frequent application and vise versa. and focus on clearing ur marks n acne instead of covering it. that jus makes the marks darker and can inflamee ur acne
I haven't tried any good drugstore face products that are long wearing. I think you may just have to spend a little more on foundation/ concealer and go affordable on everything else. In the meantime, try carrying around blotting sheets with you so your makeup doesn't melt off. I have extremely oily skin and I haaaaave to use high end foundation, nothing else works! I'm sure there is something out there, I just haven't found it!
For drugstore foundation I'd recommend Maybelline Superstay 24-hour makeup. Just remember to shake the bottle well before each use as it tends to separate when left alone for awhile.
I have combination skin. It gets really oily around my nose, forehead, and around my chin. I recently started using Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation. A little pricey, yes, but well worth the money. I applied a thin coat and it covered my imperfections PLUS it literally stayed on all day and night...I never needed to touch up. :)
@Lala: I totally get what you're saying. I'm going to try other products and see if I can find something that will work well. This past year my acne has just gone crazy and I just haven't been comfortable looking at it! But lately it's started clearing up so hopefully it doesn't look as bad.
@Althea: I actually just bought Rimmel's Stay Matte powder at Ulta! I was going to to get NYX''s mattifying foundation but they didn't have it so I opted for Rimmel. It did a pretty good job, but I could feel my skin was starting to get oily after I got home from school.
@Sheila: I'll definitely look into both products! I also get really oily on my forehead, nose and chin. My cheeks feel oily but not as much as the other areas.
I've used prime time for a long time, from bare minerals. I love it, long wear and feels natural. Makeup stays very long, and I live in Singapore, its Hot and Humid !
The Bare Minerals primer is the one that I've found works best for me, under powder, liquid, or mousse! Another great product to use for primer is the body shop's vitamin C skin boost! Works wonders and has great skin benefits!
primers: primed and poreless is my fave!!! also BB creams or tinted moistirzer also cover imperfections while giving a glow i use nars tinted moisturzier and then nars bronzer over or bareminerals which is really good on the skin.
Bare Minerals!!!!! It is amazing I have oily acne prone skin as well and this is great face makeup it covers up, doesn't clog pores, and keeps your face looking matte!!!! :) Hope I helped!!!
