I don't have a youtube channel or a vlog, but Beautylish is a good way to get people to watch your videos. You just have to be cautious of being "too self promotional" commenting on others pages simply staying "check out my blog" and posting your link can seem rude and annoying at times, so it's better to actually be personal with the person, use there name and actually read what they are saying. If you show interest in them and take the time to actually be thoughtful usually users will click back and do the same for you.
You should create a blog and link it to your YouTube and vice versa, that will help get followers on your end and blogs can be found on stumbleupon and google easier which can help promote your YouTube account.
Also leave comments on popular YouTube channels because people do read comments and go through and watch other people.
Just be kind and thoughtful, it's okay to add your link, but I wouldn't go around just throwing it out there.
