New Year's Eve is an excuse to go all out when it comes to hair, makeup, and especially your nail art. It's a night to display your celebratory mood—anything goes and there’s no such thing as too much glitz! With that in mind, there are a few sparkling designs (like Angie B.'s gradient effect, above) that are sure to turn heads wherever you are enjoying the countdown. So before you hit the town, check out a few fabulous manicures for a bit of eye-catching inspiration.
GLITTER
Think of glitter as confetti for your fingertips! Play with different shapes, sizes, and colors for a unique layering effect that stays true to the night's party vibe (like Natalie C's fête-ready fingertips, left). Try gold flecks with a sheer champagne-hued polish for a bubbly look.
BLING
Mix and match decals, crystals, and gems on your nails just like you would add lots of sparkling jewelry with your outfit. To make the bling pop, opt for a shiny black polish (like Mary S. used, far left) as the base. The lacquered ebony foundation creates a stark contrast with the shimmering jewels.
METALLICS
If busy effects aren't your style, try a chic and clean chrome effect like Rachel G., far left. You can still add a bit of color to the look by painting your digits with an iridescent holographic nail polish that will appear to shift shades whenever you move your hands.

I didn't do my nails for New Years...I stayed home and got a little messed up, so I wasn't overly concerned, haha. But beautiful pictures! I love the first one with the confetti/glitter.
