Hi, sweetie,
If you don't want to use a headband, just do 3 braids and pin them up.

Make sure you pull the braids back initially or it'll get all saggy looking when you need to start wrapping it around the head.

Next headband hairstyle will have a half-up & bun look. I didn't do a plain headband hairstyle because I thought it would be too boring lol. <3
