How often should I wash my hair extensions?: We recommend that you wash your extensions once every two to three wears depending on how much product you have used. Remember - DO NOT over wash. This will lessen the lifespan of your hair extensions!
What you need: hair extensions (of course!); either wig/extension shampoo & conditioner or a gentle shampoo & conditioner that wont strip the extensions; a sink/bathtub/a container to wash them in; a source of running water (a tap!); a wide tooth comb; a towel; and a flat surface to put the towel on.
How to wash hair extensions: Fill up your sink with lukewarm water and place your extensions in the water. Gently move them around until they are all wet. Place shampoo in your hand and run your hands down the hair. DO NOT rub the hair or move your hands in the opposite direction of the way the hair falls. Rinse the extensions until the water runs clear and gently squeeze the water out of the extensions. Repeat with conditioner. With wide tooth comb, gently comb your extensions to rid of any tangles. If there are tangles, gently run your comb through the. DO NOT tug. Rinse until the water runs clear and gently squeeze out the water. NEVER use a towel to dry your hair extensions.
How to dry hair extensions: Place a towel on a flat surface - a table, a bed or the floor - and lay your extensions on the towel. Make sure your extensions are lying flat. Brush with wide tooth comb. Either leave over night to dry or blow dry while on the towel.
How to store hair extensions: Once completely dry, gather your wefts and neatly place the hair extensions back into the original plastic packaging to lay flat. You can also store your extensions in a plastic container or box just as long as they lay flat and are not exposed to moisture.
