HI! After many internet problems and reconfiguring my wifi, I am able to upload my first simple cooking video!!! :D
This is totally different from all my other videos but I will make sure they are all Asian cooking, I normally eat traditional Japanese style cooking anyways :) So I will show you all my common foods I make and eat on a regular basis :)
Steps to making home made sushi rice / sticky rice the type of yummy rice you get at sushi and Japanese restaurants :)
What you will need:
Calrose rice or short grain white rice
White rice vinegar
Sugar
Salt
Rice cooker (for easy cooking, you can still use a pot and stove)
Water
Steps:
-Take 1 cup of rice and wash it in a bowl or pot with warm water. Rinse 2-3 times or until water runs fairly clear.
-Place washed and drained rice into rice cooker
-Put 1 cup of water into rice cooker and let the rice and water sit for 20 minutes.
-After 20 minutes, turn the rice cooker on and cook the rice.
-While rice is cooking mix 2 fluid ounces (2 oZ) rice vinegar with 1 TBSP Sugar and 1 TSP Salt and stir until dissolved.
-Once rice is done cooking, pour vinegar mixture onto the cooked rice, stir and let sit for 5 minutes.
-After 5 minutes, serve and enjoy! :D
If you are using a pot and stove, bring 1 cup of water to a boil, reduce heat to low, add 1 cup or washed rice, place lid over top and wait 40 minutes. Be careful with electric stove tops. watch to make sure rice does not boil over :P
GOOD LUCK!
