Keri Hilson "Oh Africa" Music Video Inspired Makeup

Hello beautiful people. This tutorial was inspired by Keri Hilson from a music video Oh Africa and it was with Akon, and somebody actually requested that I did this look.

And when I saw it I loved it so much and it's very wearable. So that way I got it the most and I even do some falsies so here is what she did and if you want to learn how I did this look then keep on watching.

Okay. So I'm going to get the picture and it's really simple when it comes to the eye shadow with the emphasis on her eyeliner.

I know it's not going to look exactly like hers on me because I don't look like Keri Hilson and her eyes are green or hazel. There are light and mine are dark.

So let's just try our best. My eyes are primed with MAC Painterly Paint Pot. Keri Hilson just has a light bronzy color going across her lid. That's really it. So I'm going to take one of these Colson [SP] top pots. This one is in ME 23 and a Sigma flat brush. This is the 239.

I'm going to go a little higher than I usually would and I'm going to a Sigma brush, 217. This is hot pot #6 and this is just going to go on the outer part of my eye.

So do the same on the other eye and then go in with our highlight color and I'm going to use MAC's makeup pigment. It's nice new color. I'm going to this huge Colson [SP] brush. I'm going to go back in with my mighty brush and blend it.

The emphasis in this look are her eyelashes and her eyeliner. So I'm going to take two lashes and put them together and I actually learned this from Perbus [SP] when she did my make up at IMATS. I don't know if you guys saw that video. But what she did was she took two eyelashes and she glued them together.

So what I'm going to do is the same thing that she did and I'm taking these Paji eyelashes. So they look very natural and they're not that dramatic and these are number 111. I don't know, oh, that's highly category or I don't know how they like categorize it, whatever. It like little that, like more dramatic.

So I haven't glued these together but I just like put it together. So it's going to come out to look like that. Using this DUO glue that I got from MAC. I'm going to layer, so only to lay on top just to glue it together. So we'll let that sit for a while and then I'm going to put together the other ones. Make sure that the band they match each other. So looks like that. So looks eyelash right.

Perbus [??] said that people put on, people eyelashes all the time, but what I didn't know was that you could or you should glue together before you put it on instead of put one on and then put another one on top.

It's better to just put them together already and then it is like you're putting one lash on. Thank you Parses you press those and I learned a lot from Judie Mamica [SP]. So I'm going to let that sit also.

I'm going to line up my lash line so this is kind of a guide for me to put like where I should put my lashes. So this is all good to go. I see there is still some white glue there but this one is ready.

So here is the lash and here is the glue hopefully it's tacky. I'm just going to put this on like this. And kind of like bend it so it's not totally stiff on your eye. I'll let dry, let it do a dance. Now it's like fit for my eye.

And so when I get on I'm just going to use another brush to put it on even more.

So there is our lashes. Do you love them? I love them.

While you let the dry it on I'm going to put my like eyeliner but let's just let it sit it for a bit and I'm going to do rest of my face.

So I'm going to use my Jamaica bronzer and I'm going to use a Sigma angled brush. Keri Hilson has a pretty slim face anyways. So she in picture it did look like she is wearing much of a contour bronzer but I have to because I've got chubby cheeks.

So I'm going to apply my highlighter and I'm going to use MAC hush cream color base. Sitting in the sun for a little bit. So it's kind of watery. Use a fan brush because. This is called Susan's [SP].

I really love fan brushes because it helps things not look so concentrated on your face, especially this. I like the way that this is putting on color base because you know it would usually take like maybe a brush like this where I just put it on in my hands or something and it looks like a lot until I kind of spread it out, it's hard. So I really like this fan brush because it like evenly distributes it on your face and it doesn't look so like oh my god there is a hill of highlighter on her face. Looks really nice with fan brush.

Let's go on to our blush. I'm going to use Orgasm by Norris [SP] and it looks like this. Pretty peachy color, okay let our see, but you guys know Orgasm is I mean everyone Organism is, even Swizz Beats does.

This is MAC's, what's this, 165. So Keri's cheeks look's... I'm going to get the picture. Nice and peachy and goldie and when I saw it I thought of this. Oh hey this is on.

Okay. So right now I have my favorite Dior lip glow and if you don't have this I suggest you get it. I'm going to use Peachstock by MAC and needy color. And then on top of that I'm going to put MAC's Dazzle gloss and Sugar-rimmed, but if you have the Clear Gloss that's fine.

Let's go ahead and finish our eyes. I'm going to go back wear the naked pigment and [??] brush and this is going to be... I'm teared out it's touch hard like. You like fluff these up. It's almost my part of the song. Goes in around that.

Okay, anyway, I mean Clinique's gel eyeliner. This is Sigma's 266 brush.

With you go a lot more out. I know it's going all around her eyes but from experience I have to leave my inter to look alone because if put eyeliner over it's not flattering on me. So if you like kind of Keri Hilson eyes go ahead and do that, but I, like, just from experience and I've learned to, like, not do that anymore.

So that's I'm going to do for the upper, I'm going lend my lash line. You could use this on your waterline, but kind of poke myself. So I'm going to play it safe with a pencil. I'm going to use MAC's engraved, you know, Keri's eyeliner is like more can't like of than mine but just do a fitting to your eyes and I know if I that kind eyeliner like all around wouldn't look that great on me. So suggest it to you.

Okay, so we're all finished and here is the final look with the blond on my chin.
