NAILS Next Top Nail Artist first Pre Challenge was sponsored by Swarovski. Thank you Swarovski for sponsoring this challenge! For our first pre challenge we were asked to convey the emotions that we feel going through the competition. I chose to depict the emotion ‘Laugh now, cry later’. I am very grateful, happy, and excited to be a part of this years competition. This is the reason behind the big smile. However, all competitions come with some stress and worrying, which is the reason for the tears. I decided to add an element of movement by adding a spring underneath the smiley face. The spring causes the face to shake, which conveys the emotion of ‘shaking laughing’. Or as some might say, ‘so happy I could cry’. I enjoyed making this piece. Thank you for watching!
