Optometrist visit vlog where I show you some of the low key traditional and state of the art technology and ssitive devices to help you in your daily living as a legally blind person. If you watched my last video or follow me on IG you know my vision has gotten worse in the last three weeks. It’s bad, bad. So I wanted to see if there was any new adaptive technology or old school assistive devices out there to help at my job and everyday life. I liked the binoculars the most – they aren’t realistic for use at work as I have to type and talk to clients but keep an open mind while watching this video because what doesn’t work for me may help you adjust to live with vision loss.

There were two devices that she showed me that aren’t in the video (camera wasn’t recording), One was this auditory glasses called the Occam. It basically tells you everything you’re looking at. So it stores faces and will tell you from the speaker attached to the frame who is in front of you. It will also read books for you or read labels. Israel is on top of the blind game with this one. Really gives me Black mirror vibes. The other thing sthat wasn’t captured on camera is a telescope, which is as basic as it sounds. Still, it could be useful for you although it didn’t magnify enough for me.
