Milos is known for it's crystal blue water beaches, beautiful sunsets and being the best island in Greece for relaxation. This island is a lot less touristy than somewhere like Santorini or Mykonos and can offer you the same stunning views with more affordable accommodation. You can get easily get budget accommodation for under $100 US per night and the average 5-star hotel can be found for under $500 which compared to the other popular islands like Santorini, Mykonos, Crete and other greek islands is very well priced.

The best way to get to Milos is by taking a ferry from Athens which will take you around 5-7 hours or you can fly which will take you 35 minutes. Or even better take a ferry from another island like Santorini which has high speed ferries.

If you do arrive by boat you’ll get into the Adamas port this area is the hub for the island and is a great place to stay if you don’t have a car and want easy access to boats for day trips and busses around the island. There’s also lots of restaurants here and shopping.

If you want something more picturesque staying in Plaka which is the main capital of Milos will give you all those greek vibes because it looks quite similar to Santorini. Since it’s located on top a hill you get the best sunsets in Greece here.

Pollonia is another recommended spot to check out which is a fishing village located on the northeast tip of the island of Milos

One of the top things to do in Milos is to take a boat tour around the island this gives you a chance to see Milos from a different perspective and to see spots around the island that are only accessible by boat. On this boat tour we saw Klima Village, which was actually Milos first port, the bear rock, caves, Sarakinkio beach and a had a bunch of stops for swimming.
