Hi everyone! Today I'm exploring the art in Salem's oldest cemetery, the Burying Point - which also happens to be the 2nd oldest graveyard in America. What do these motifs really mean? Turns out there's a very interesting history behind the art of Salem's tombstones, which illustrate how religion and ancient cultures collided in colonial New England. I'll explore how and why this occurred today.
