i've have this urge to create fantasy makeup looks based on artworks lately, so here's the latest edition into my unofficial series. this is a look inspired by stephanie pui-mun law, who primarily works with watercolor and does very beautiful, ethereal intricate paintings. i used to post to a lot of fantasy art galleries in middle school and she was one of the popular artists on one website (elfwood i think; but that site is long gone now i believe) aside from linda bergkvist. it's great how the internet exposes people to different artists and art styles eh ^_^

however i am very bad with watercolors...so i thought i would try to imitate it on my face. we all gotta have goals, right...

this fantasy fairy makeup look took 4-5 hours to complete and was 100% improvised. i referenced individual watercolor photos (had photographs of just random watercolor splotches and stuff) plus actual paintings by stephanie pui-mun law. the main one i referenced is the one shown in the thumbnail.

this tutorial is the exact opposite of easy, but even if you don't do it i hope you can learn different ways of utilizing eyeliner and eyeshadow. makeup is pretty versatile, and doesn't just have to be used to look pretty.
