Food is something we deal with on a daily basis, I could tell you if a fruit was ripe or rotten - but for some reason, picking up vegetables, pantry goods, meat, fish or poltry at a grocery store felt alien to me. I couldn't make a "right" choice. It was easier to just eat out.

Then when it came to cooking, I was afraid of preparing it wrong, making something inedible and having all that time be wasted. That anxiety was amplified if I was supposed to cook for others. EX I never wanted to participate in work pot-locks.

I could always scramble eggs, make pancakes, french toast or oatmeal, because all of those things were super easy. Anything with a long step-by-step process and numerous ingredients was a completely different story.

The issue didn't consuming my life, but definitely set many limitations on the activities I would part-take in. Until I decided it was enough and 2018 was the year I challenged myself to make meals.
