RECIPES IN THIS VIDEO
PERFECT PORRIDGE (2 servings)
3 cups of water
1 cup of oats
1 spoon of agave nectar or maple syrup
1 spoon of shredded coconut
1 mashed banana
Low heat, stir for around 10 minutes
Add berries, nuts, dried fruit and peanut butter :) If not sweet enough add some syrup.

SMOOTHIE BOWL (skip milk/water to make ‘nice cream’)
half a cup of almond milk
cup of frozen berries
frozen banana
Blend together and top up with coconut shred and fresh fruit of your choice

APPLE BOWL
Shred 2 apples and a carrot
Add dash of cinnamon, spoon of agave, raisins or dried berries and nuts of your choice

Oh and the 'slight' reference to Breaking Vegan was not intentional, I just needed to think of an author name, and that one popped into my head... But just for informative purposes here is what went on with that story....
If you are involved in the vegan activist movement community, you will know exactly what this parody is about. If you are not vegan, let me explain, so that my video makes some sense.
There was a blogger who was struggling with an eating disorder (orthorexia), who decided to go ‘plant based’. She mistakenly referred to herself as ‘vegan’, but was in fact merely on a ’plant based diet’. She went vegan to lose weight and nothing else. And there is nothing wrong with that! It's great in fact despite the reason! BUT....
‘PLANT BASED’ means you eat a vegan diet (excluding milk, eggs, fish, honey and meat from your diet) for weight loss or health benefits mainly,
while ‘BEING VEGAN’ is for ETHICAL reasons mainly.
The diet is the same, but the driving force is different, and that is why there is a distinction in terminology. Eating a vegan diet, does NOT necessarily make you a vegan. And being vegan doesn't mean you are on weight loss diet!!! She was...
Vegans go vegan because they want to protect the animals and the environment, while people on plant based diets, exclude those products for personal gain only. While on the ‘vegan’ diet the girl consumed very few calories per day, as she was already struggling with an eating disorder and self image issues. She started feeling weak as a result (obviously, she was starving herself) and she blamed that solely on veganism. But still - that is not where the issue is... She released a best selling book called ‘Breaking Vegan’, about how veganism almost killed her. This was a huge set back for a vegan movement. Her mistake might now cost thousands of innocent lives. She made money by hurting one of the the most important social movements today. A movement that promotes health, longevity, prevents diseases, helps the environment and above anything, aims to put a stop to unnecessary cruelty. And could potentially even end world hunger. This decision she made was hugely immoral in my books. Whether it was an honest mistake or just pure egoism, I do not approve of it and I think book that is so misrepresentative of the veganism should be taken off the shelves. There are people out there that could now associate veganism with orthorexia, and it is such a pity… It upsets me. It’s my way to show what I think when people use veganism to pursue personal monetary gains, driven by greed and boost of self image rather than morals.
That being said: my persona of Jody in the video is not in any way related to the actual girl who wrote the book, it’s just me being silly to make the video more entertaining - let’s make this clear :) Jordan, if you watched this by any chance, you made a mistake, and it’s ok. Everybody does! But PLEASE be careful with what you promote and how it can affect the world. I am sure you realised by now that it was a mistake. I dislike your book, but I don’t dislike you as a person, ok? If one day I do something stupid (which I do all the time) feel free to parody me to your heart’s content :)
