Protein treatments are treatments that strengthens weaken hair. Weaken hair can be hair experiencing excessive breakage, color treated hair, hair using heat, relaxed hair, texlaxed hair, or texturized hair. Our natural hair is damaged in a sense because it is dead and we do manipulate it via washing, styling etc... This is damage we can avoid however, there is extra damage some of us do that we can avoid. Excessive combing, styling, heat usage, coloring natural hair these are all reasons protein treatments are useful. If you fall under any of the list categories you should have protein treatments in your regimen. If you dont fall under any of these categories then protein treatment is optional.

Greek Yogurt
Henna
Rhassoul Clay
Bentonite Clay

Eggs and Greek yogurt contain protein that is most beneficial for the body. The protein does not penetrate to the hair cause its not hydrolyzed. Coconut oil does not contain protein however coconut milk does. The protein in coconut milk is not hydrolyzed.
