ABOUT THIS CHALLENGE

So what immediately sprang to mind for me was art, as I found many of the people portrayed in art had a timeless beauty to them ^_^ So I decided to make myself living art - painting myself into two favorite art styles, the style of Gustav Klimt and pointillism.

I was actually planning on doing 3 looks for this challenge, but when I filmed the 3rd work it didn't work out. That look was going to be a watercolor look inspired by Silvia Pelissero.

POINTILLISM

This wasn't based on any specific work. I did do it a lot in high school though so I decided to recreate it on my face. I also added dots on my shirt and hat using fabric paint. This wasn't the first time I attempted pointillism - around a year ago I did a pointillism look on my eyes on this channel.

GUSTAV KLIMT

Klimt had a great appreciation for the female form, and his work featured both symbolism and art nouveau. One of my favorite paintings of him is Medizin, specifically the image of Hygieia, the Greek Goddess of health. I decided to create props to emulate what she wore in the painting.

For the face however I referenced several portraits to come up with the face makeup, specifically his portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer. The cheeks are very rosy and you can see the very full eyebrows and grayish-brown shadowing on her skin.
