Hi girlies!! I was just wondering how do I use nair?? I've never used nair before and I've heard that it could burn or leave scabs I you don't use it properly. I got the nair with the sponge and it has Moroccan Argan oil!! It freaks me out cause it says do not rub on lol!! Please help girls 💜

I have that and the do not rub just means don't rub it into your skin like lotion. just smooth it on to coat the area. and it did burn my legs very bad and I took it off after 3 minutes but it took off all my hair completley. I think you'll get used to it because after a while it didn't burn and took a little longer to take all hair off. and make sure to wash your legs after taking it off.

How long is the time suggested to keep on it says don't exceed after ten minutes lol but what would be suggested like a good 3 to 4? And if you don't mind me asking laura is your hair extremely coarse... And if so did this work?? Cause my hair is really coarse and grows back very quickly

Well there are a couple things I want to address;

Depilatory Creams burn off the superficial layer of your skin to remove the hair. Burning happens regardless and you have some skin sensitivity afterwards. I have a bit of sensitivity on the upper part of my thighs. I recommend maybe rubbing some aloe vera gel on it afterwards to help with sensitivity. They do sell a Nair formula with Aloe Vera included.

Nair does not really work well on coarse hair. I know quite a handful of girls with coarse hair and they did not yield any results from it.

Usually I put about a decent sized glop in my hand and smooth it onto my skin. I usually apply a thick layer - not a thin one. I still see the product when I have it on - it should not absorb or disappear like a lotion.
I usually give it about a full lengths time - however, I suggest that you patch test this first. If this product ends up not working for you, last thing you want is your skin to feel irritated and uncomfortable and not having any result as well.

Nair is messy, I usually have two (small) towels in handy. I use the regular formula, I have the shower one with the sponge as well and it did not work for me. ( I have thin hair. ) As long as you follow the directions, you should be fine. There is no need to get creative with it. If it doesn't work with the maximum time it will never work so it's not worth burning your skin.
And have a timer with you! I usually set mine at 8 minutes because of prep time ☺

Thanks kitty 💜💜💜 you literally answered all my questions!! Do you think Vaseline total moisture aloe fresh would be good  after??

Kitty was very thorough. I have had better luck with nair than with the Sally Hansen brand, which resulted in a chemical burn:( I returned it to walgreens post-haste. Not to be confused with Sally beauty supply, which sells my holy grail hair removal cream by clean and gentle (I think that's what it's called). I think they may also have a cream they sell separately to soothe the skin after depilation or waxing. Good luck!

Yess Sally Hansen definitely BURNS! I used the depilatory on my face.
Because it burnt away the superficial layer of the skin, just like any apricot scrub would do in terms of scrubbing away that layer, I was left with unprotected skin and a breeding ground of bacteria that was so bad. It look like I had gotten cystic acne and was coloring on it with a marker. I'm still recovering from it today.. and this was about a year ago or more.

Vaseline should help, as long as you have something to soothe it. The skin on your body is obviously tough but it is a good ideas to have something incase it is enough to bother you. You can also try putting on some honey afterwards and washing it off in the shower and even rinsing the area with green tea ☺

Thank you Allison!! I've had a horrible experience with Sally Hansen in middle school my mother said I could pluck my brows so I got the idea of putting Sally Hansen on my face and OMG I burnt the skin soooo bad!! And I never used hair removal products again lmao.

I used that scrub in my teens and twenties (34 now) and about three years ago I tried it again. Big mistake! It stripped my skin and it was red, shiny, and irritated as it's ever been! I was embarrassed for two weeks and it took a month for my skin's moisture barrier to regain balance. I gave it away with a warning to my sister. Now I use my clarisonic Mia 2 twice a week and that's all the exfoliating I can handle. Sorry to get off topic!

That's ok :) I'm glad we did!! I don't use it that often as I used to!! I think I better look for a gentle exfoliant now lol 😁 and I notice the pimples were getting better but then would come back ingrown and painful I wonder if that's why 🙈
