I want to be one. I am an esthetician and do makeup at the salon I work at. I love the h.s. girls at homecoming and prom time, always fun! I am planning to spend 2 months in L.A. this winter at makeup school.

I'm striving to become one. I want to get the basics down like working at Sephora. Then, I would love to go to a special effects school. I'd love to do freelance photo shoot work for alternative and sci-fi type companies or in Hollywood. It's a big goal, but I'm determined. This is the first time I really know for sure what I want.

I don't know if you have a Regency in your area, but if you graduate through them, not only do you get 30% off MAC makeup, but you are able to take classes through MAC. That is how I am planning on getting my foot through the door with MAC

I am too clumsy to be an artist but I have a good eye. I would like to have my own blog and possibly a book. I want to take old things like color theory and Kibbe's Metamorphosis and make it new and relevant again.

I admire all the makeup artists out there! While
I already have a career in a totally different field, my love for makeup boils down to buying it,
trying out new things and shopping endlessly for it...but that's basically it. Power to all you talented ladies!

Makeup Artists are a dime a dozen these days. Due to the surge in youtube video tutorials, everyone is one these days. You need training to be an artist regardless if you have talent already or just starting out. It is very difficult to freelance. You have to know the right people and live in the right area. You have to market yourself and make sure to look the part. Be a people person. Start out at Sephora. It doesn't matter where you start out at Sephora, but you can move up to different positions. They train you and work with you to reach your goals. This will help you big time. MAC is harder to get into. They want you to already have the skills in place. They will ask you to demonstrate on two models. Your best bet is to start out at Sephora or another makeup retailer.

I have done makeup and hair artistry from my senior summer so it's been 15 years. I love it. I started off as just an assistant, made money to survive during college and kept going. I love it. It is sooo fulfilling. I have done mostly weddings and prom. Two of the most memorable moments on life....besides having a baby. Lol! If you love it, it's for you!!!!

I've been a freelance makeup artist for over a year now. I love it. Even though I'd love to do it on a regular basis, as my full time and not my part time gig. I work with photographers around the state and models as well to develop a great portfolio.

I'm in college right now, halfway through a 1 year beauty course. Then I'm going on to doing 2 years of hairdressing to get the qualifications I need to move to London and enrol in the Delamar Academy. If I don't achieve this, I will be absolutely heartbroken, so I'm going to work as hard as I can!
I also do freelance makeup for photoshoots and theatre productions in my area, not bad for 17. You can do whatever you want as long as you try your best!

I've done a makeup artistry course and recieved a certificate, so technically I could freelance but my art studies come first and foremost and take up a lot of time (in the studio). I would love to be a MUA someday, but right now I have to focus on my art. In the meantime I love learning more about makeup through BL and experimenting with looks on myself. If I can't focus on freelancing I can surely play around with makeup on my own!<3
