I always use a base like Sally Hansen hard as wraps and always use a top coat but no matter what, my polish always chips in a matter of hours. I use my hands a lot at work but I'd love for my manicure to last longer than 24 hours :( any advice??

Try NOT using a base coat... Just polish on your bair nails.
When u apply your polish, do at LEAST three coats! Wait for a complete dry.
Then top it off with a clear Salley Hansen STRENGTHNER, not a TOP COAT.
Hope I helped..(:

I have the same problem also, it chips within a few hours no matter what I do. Base coat, top coat no top coat, no base coat. I have tried all of them also. I find that doing more than 2 coats makes my nails chip faster though, I dunno why but the thicker the polish layer is the faster it chips for me. Ahhh.... such problems ....

have you tried using opi? I dont paint my nails but I used sally hansen on my toes and it was awful. it was chipping the next day so I just threw them out. wont use sally again. but opi seems to stay on my toes for at least 2 weeks or more and rarely chips. but maybe nail nails are different...

You should try Seche Vite. It's not only fast drying, it's also a really great top coat. The tips of my nails don't usually chip until a week later.

I work in a fabric store, it's extremely stressful on my nails. I have found that the Revlon Extra Life No Chip Top Coat is the very best top coat I've tried yet. Two Good coats of that and I never have an issue. I do always use a base coat as well, just to prevent staining my nails.

Do you happen to have your hands in water a lot? I used to wait tables and no matter what I would use, my nails would always chip. If that's the case, I don't think there's much you'll be able to do because that's just kind of how it is. I've heard Dylan that top coat is pretty amazing! I'd try that out to see if it works!

i was using top coat by sally hansen but i read about the Revlon one that Dylan is referring to. I use Sinful, Essie, Sally Hansen, and OPI even my favorite Essie polishes chip. Thanks everyone, I will be trying all these tips today!

SECHE VITE is the way to go girls! I know JulieG on Youtube recommends it all the time. I have always loved the product and I have 3 kids and do dishes a lot. Try it out. They have it at C.V.S.

After wearing this on my nails, I have not gone back to regular polish. This stuff is addicting! Lasts me 2 weeks with no chipping.  http://tinyurl.com/6lclhrz

I'm actually a licensed manicurist, and I've had clients w/ the same prob! Your nails might be naturally oily! There are a few things you can do to counter the natural oils that are on your nail bed. 1-buff your nail lightly- this will not only even out the nail beds, but there won't be little wells/little valleys for the oil rest in. 2-clean your nail beds w/ alcohol prior to applying polish/basecoat. This will help the polishes stick. 3-you can purchase "bond aid" from a beauty store. This evens out the PH on the whole entire nail so the polish adheres evenly.

Extra tips:
Make sure the layers of polish are nice and thin. The thicker the coats, the faster it will chip.
Use a hardener before you use a top coat.
Avoid oils, bc this could cause the polish the lift and peel off.

Hope I helped. <3

I wanted to like Seche Vite but my nails still chipped within a few hrs no matter I did:( I tried painting the free edge like Terra suggested sadly that didnt work either. Might have to try the Bond aid like Nu Nu suggests i hope that helps!!
