I just recently discovered an amazing brand called "Carols daughter" I use the the manoi mask after I curled my hair to fix the heat damage. It claims to repair your hair up to 90% after one use and its TOTALLY does plus it smells really good. Another thing I like is they use natural ingredients and the price isnt bad. You can buy their stuff on their website with free shipping or sephora sells it. hope this helps.

The key is to use shampoo with no sulfates and parabens which are harmful and conditioner with no DEA alcohol, etc I like a brand called Bioken Enfanti. you can use any shampoo just look for "sulfate-free" or "no sulfates" and a botanical conditioner...

sulfates: (sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium ethyl sulfate) are all ingredients known as sulfate. They will be the same one you'll find in laundry detergent and who would wanna wash their hair with that lmao

The best shampoo/conditioner combination I've ever used for damaged hair is Lush rehab shampoo, and L'oreal elvive full restore 5 conditioner. Honestly, I can't tell you how amazing my hair looked and felt, try it yourself :)

i'd buy a protein based shampoo for your dry and damaged hair. i have a video on my channel (http://youtube.com/MeganLouiseVuitton) on the Joico K-PAK, which includes a shamp/condi + deep conditioner. it does wonders for dry and damaged hair!

I love the Shea Moisture "Moisture Retention Shampoo" as well as their "Organic Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner." You can find their products at Target or Walgreens. Be selective about their leave-ins though, all of them are not created equal. Check out my review on one of their newest products via my profile. Good luck!

@Kayla T. I hear that the Carol's Daughter line is amazing as well; my girl swears by it.

@Andrea L. You are right about the sulfates and whatnots... those ingredients are bad business-- very drying.

COMPLETELY agree with Kayla. The Carol's Daughter Monoi collection is AMAZING.

Kerastase Oleo Relax Slim by L'Oreal I live by it!

Agreed! Kerastase is an amazing brand, it did wonders with my hair.

I tried Carol's Daughter, it was good too but I couldn't stand the smell... haha it's not like aweful but for me it was smelling like bad gum and it didn't go away all day. It was just annoying for me lol.

Kerastase smells REALLY good, btw :D but it's a bit pricey

<<The key is to use shampoo with no sulfates and parabens which are harmful>>

I'm sorry, but that's a load of crap.

Sulfates can irritate some peoples' scalps, but they are SAFE to use, not to mention you can find them in items other than shampoo (your dishwasher detergent, for example. Or your toothpaste!). Even most Lush shampoos contain sulfates. It's a surfactant. It's responsible for the suds.

Parabens are also SAFE. In fact, in most cosmetics and hair care, they're listed toward the end of the ingredient list, meaning there's less of them than most other ingredients. Some parabens are even NATURALLY-DERIVED! They're preservative agents.

Don't believe what the EWG and CFSC (who have NO scientific backing for their claims) tell you.

http://personalcaretruth.com (tons of information that is based on SCIENCE and not scare-mongering)

http://cosmeticsinfo.org (learn what various ingredients are used for)

But enough about that.

The "best" shampoo and conditioner for dry and damaged hair? The one that, ultimately, works best for you. I cannot tell you what it is. Others may throw suggestions out there regarding what they like, but truthfully, they can't tell you either. You have to try a bunch and decide for yourself.

After spending tons of money on finding shampoos I can tell you my top three sets:
- Paul Mitchell Super Skinny S&C (the serum is amazing as well!)
- Jason Naturals Sea Kelp S&C
- Graham Webb's Halo (Reparative and Hydrating) Sets

My ultimate favorite was Halo's Moisturizing Set however they discontinued in my local Beauty Supply Store so it's hard to find, although I have ordered it online. It moisturizes amazingly and smells great! The only reason it's third is because it's no longer available in my area.

Super Skinny really helps making my thick fine and dry hair feel super soft and shiny and it has an amazing smell as well.

Jason Organics was not amazing, but it did moisturize, and left my hair soft. You need the conditioner cause the shampoo is very clarifying.

All I can say is don't pay particular attention to the brand or the price because your going to be then paying for exactly that. Ask clerks at the store, and when you get recommendations on specific products, read reviews because our hair is all going to react differently.

Hope that helps! : )

my favorite shampoo and conditioner for damaged hair is the paul mitchell awapuhi white ginger set. it's sulfate free and it has keratin amino acids in it which help to strengthen your hair. <3

Try something like the Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil System. I've used it to tackle my dry hair and so far it has worked really well to de-frizz and smooth my hair. This brand also has really good shampoos and conditioners which are sulfate and silicone free so they're ideal for dry hair. You can find all of their stuff online, I got their argan oil at a site called Beyas just in case you want to check it out. :)

Pureology! It feels incredible and it makes your hair so soft. Your hair feels way better in just 1 week! Also get your hair trimmed once every 4 to 8 weeks. Once your hair gets healthier 6-8.

I'm with Andrea on this one. I had the worst hair ever. Started using Marc Antony's sulfate free line...on a hunch. My hair is softer, shinier, and lightweight

Hello Tara!

For me, the best shampoo for a dry and damaged hair is Avalon Organic Shampoo. This is an organic shampoo. I have been using this shampoo for almost a year now and I am really satisfied with the result. I suggest that you should check this out.
