Today marks the 4 year anniversary of the death of Sophie Lancaster, a girl who was beaten to death for looking "different".

Illamasqua started their "S.O.P.H.I.E." Campaign in conjunction with the Sophie Lancaster Fund to raise awareness - and money - to "promote the right to experiment and self-express through the way you look, Illamasqua have continually supported the Foundation's work and remains committed to changing attitudes towards subcultures."

A portion of each purchase of a S.O.P.H.I.E. Black Eye Pencil goes directly to the fund.

The bands should still be available through the Illamasqua page...? I got one with no problem.

And yes, the pencil is pretty outstanding!

I heard about Sophie's story a couple of years ago. Such a sad story! It broke my heart to learn about what happened to her and her boyfriend ( I think that's who she was with when she was killed).

I think it's great that that there is a Foundation in her name and that Illasmasqua is a supporter!

Yeah, it's mind boggling how much hate there is in this world. I could care less what you look like, what color your skin is, etc. I love everyone the same and can't understand why not everyone is like that! It's very sad!
