It certainly depends on the person. Green makes my skin look grey but yellow really works on redness for me.

If you've got redness you should use green to cancel it out. Green is right across from red on the color wheel. Yellow is across from purple, so if you have purple tinted under eye circles that would work, but not for redness. Smashbox has a good green primer, so use something like that and then see what your skin looks like. If there's a few concentrated spots you can stipple on some green concealer (I like MUFE). After all that then use your concealer and foundation. Hope this helps!

I like Clinique Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder, 0.84oz (yellow powder, around $33) as well as the Clinique Redness Solutions Targeted Corrector (around $20). http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=391905&CategoryID=37070

I also LOVE Smashbox Halo Yellow Color Correcting Hydrating Powder, 0.25 oz ($33). http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P267223&categoryId=B70

Not crazy about Benefit's Lemon Aid ($20). It feels weird to me. http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P1283&categoryId=B70

Haven't tried Tarte At Ease™ Micronized Clay Calming Concealer with ARPM™ ($30). http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P266112&categoryId=B70

Green works for me to reduce redness on blemishes. For any general redness I have throughout my face, I just use my regular concealer.

I use the sonia kashuk concealer :) It has a green one for redness, salmon colored one for blue (undereyes), a regular shade lighter then my skin tone, and a powder to set it. I have been breaking out lately and it camoflages my dark circles and acne pretty well <3

I'd really recommend the Yellow Powder thing from Clinque. The redness solution one. I got the loose stuff and it is brilliant!! I have such red cheeks and around my nose and I just dust it on after using my yellow-based foundation!

Em, I'll get the website thing.

"Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder
New Redness Solutions Instant Relief Mineral Powder, A lightweight, loose, yellow mineral powder that immediately reduces redness and visible capillaries on skins with persistent or reactive redness. Can be used both under and over makeup."

it is SO BRILLIANT.

Green has done absolutely nothing for me over the years. I have such pale skin that green makes me look violently ill and awful. I would definitely try them both.

I never felt like I had clear skin until MAC's studio finish concealer.. honestly, I've been lazy on my blemish treatment my dermatologist gave me because I wear that concealer and I trick myself into thinking I have perfect skin lololol. I'm quite gullable like that.. If you get the NC range, that covers the redness :)

SOOTHE Regimen by Rodan + Fields Dermatologists eliminates redness within seconds in many cases. It never lets me down. If the redness is severe, ex. sunburn, it will take longer but will still ease the redness. There's not need to cover up.

I would say green - yellow does nothing for me, and I have loads of red acne scars. Boo.

Anyway, I use The Face Shop's Makeup Base in Green. It's a primer and I like its very spreadable texture, and a little goes a long way. It does lighten the redness a bit, but I still have to top everything off with concealer. I just don't have to use as much. =)

I've used the Custard shade from NARS concealer tube and it worked on my red patches.

Thanks for your help Lex! I have super oily skin too, so MUFE seems to be a good idea! :)

My Mom's using the green HD primer and the green based concealer from MUFE right now. Both of us have SUPER oily skin AND we live in the tropics. MUFE has worked best for both of us. Gee, I really hope this helps ya!

Yuppers. But the best way to combat red is with green. That's what all my years in arts and graphics (and my MOM) have taught me, at least.

Maybe I should try both! :)

Uh... I was just gonna say that my Mom, who's suffered from ridiculous sunburn and red spots all her life due to her VERY un-Asian skin tone has just started using a green based primer on her skin and it has worked a TREAT. Seriously.
Or maybe she's just a mutant. I dunno. Urks.

Thanks! I´m going to try with yellow concealers then... :D

Yellow is going to cancel out the red, I swear the whole "green" is a gimmick to get you to buy more products, anyhow. Any Concealer that has slight yellow base will be Great. Depending on what you are looking to spend. Lorac has great products, Benefit as well and There is one by loreal .. I believe in the true match family that works well. I hope I helped! Oh and Lancome makes a waterproof concealer that has a lot of yellow in it.

Hi girls! I just want to ask for your opinion in which is the best concealer, powder or primer for redness... Some brands say that yellow others say that green... Name your favorite products! Help! :)
