Should I Buy A Clarisonic?

Hey! I was wondering if the Clarisonic is worth it? But, I'd be getting the Mia, if so, since I don't need the most expensive.

So, some questions..

Does it work well? Leave your skin soft? Did it help your skin ? Can any type of skin use this?

Just tell me about it!
When can you use it? Everday?
Do you put mosturizer/cleanser on it?

And, can all ages use?

YES YES YES YES YES YES. BUT IT! Ok, I have had mine for 3 years. I use it every morning and evening. I saw a change in my texture and skintone the very first time I used it. After week 1 my co-workers asked what I was 'doing differently' and after 1 month customers asked if I had a little 'work' done. Yeah, it's that good.

This is what I know: Use the sensitive brush that it comes with for the first 90 days. Then you can upgrade to Normal. Wet your face and the brush then apply your cleanser to the Mia (I use HALF the amount of cleanser I was using with my fingers, so you save product.) Turn it on and hold it against your skin (starting at the forehead) but don't press it hard, just enough pressure to clean the skin - if you push too hard, it will not work correctly.

I have the pink BCA full size model. Anyhoo - there's no guess work: you work it across your forehead, then down your nose and chin, 1 cheek and finally other cheek. It beeps to tell you to move on to your next section.

I noticed my serums and moisturizers just melted into my skin, unlike before they felt like they just sat on top.

Good for all skin types, use it everyday Am and PM, put your cleaner directly on the device NOT moisturizer, yes - all ages men and women.

This is my only Con: I leave a washcloth next to my sink, so when I am finished I allow it to dry and drain. The base on my unit does not have a removable power cord, so I can't use the charging base as a simple stand - because what do I do with all of the cord?! And I have actually tried to use it that way, but the base has a hole in it and the excess water just drained on to my counter. Make sure you replace our brushes every 90 days. You can buy 2 packs for $40 or $25 for 1. I think it is the best at-home tool. BEST!

My final thought: this is daily manual exfoliation. Scrubs are no longer needed. If you're thinking, 'but i don't want to exfoliate every day' - yes you do. Think of it like exercize: It's better to do a little with every day consistency than try and cram in one big workout and hurt yourself. (or one intense chemical peel)  xoxo

YES, Yes, Yes I have had mine probably 4 years. I only use it at night to take off my make up. I think it cleans beautifully, and you skin feels like silk. Find the cleanser you like to use with it and your good to go. Worth the money. I still use the sensitive brush after all these years.

I love, love, love, love, love my clarisonic! I have had mine for over a year now and it has changed my skin. When I began using it, I had multiple pimples on my chin and uneven skintone. I was using MAC's Studio Sculpt foundation and building it up to almost full coverage. Now I am using Urban Decay's tinted moisturizer, along with concealor.

I have less breakouts now, my skin is a million times softer, and my skintone has evened out. Anyone of any age and skin type can use this. I have oily skin and it's helped my oil control.

I use my daily face wash with it. I put a pea sized amount on the brush, wet it, give it a good shake (because it holds a lot of water), turn it on and brush away! I use mine everyday that I wear make up (so probably 6 times a week) but you can use it as often as you like. It's gentile enough it won't harm your skin if you use it everyday.

I hope that helps!

I just bought the dupe that Oil of Olay put out last month after reading reviews that it performed pretty much exactly the same. So far, I'm loving the Oil of Olay tool and it cost $30!

I just got mine as a Valentine's Day present, and I <3 mine to pieces, even though it's been a good week since owning it. I had a really bad reaction to some makeup I was trying, and ended up w/ loads of tiny bumps on my cheeks and contouring areas on my face. I paired the Clairisonic up with my 10% BP PanOxyl facewash and half of it is cleared now! BP is super drying, but the Clarisonic has helped w/ the flaky skin from the awful winter air, and I can't wait to see how much more it can do for me w/ continued usage.

Does anyone have the Clarisonic as well as the Olay Pro-x? I have the Olay Pro-x and feel that it does an okay job, but I keep hearing about how the Clarisonic is better because of the sonic technology used. The Olay just has a spinning head. Would love some input because I am seriously thinking about purchasing the Mia since Sephora is having that Chic sale going on right now. HELP!

@Tara - My personal suggestion: If you can afford to buy the mia, BUY IT. Try it for a few weeks (at least 2). If you like it better great! If not - Hang on to your receipt and return it. It is not a 'final sale' item and they feature 2 different technologies: One is 'Sonic' (based on the technology of their sonicare toothbrushes) and the other just spins.

My question: Does the Olay beep and tell you to move on to the next quadrant or is it a free for all, you start, move around and finish as you like?  xoxo

I'm waiting on the UPS man right now for my Clarisonic! And guess where I got it from... QVC! Yup, that right QVC, lol. Three easy payments and it comes with Purity, Hope and Beach party, lol. I can not wait to try it. I have to charge 24hrs before use tho, :(. I also have the Olay Pro-X and it is pretty good and NO Nancy-Lee It doesn't beep, lol. Good for travel tho. :)

I just got my Clarisonic! It's charging and do I really have to wait 24 hrs? lol

I bought a Clarisonic, and I broke out bad. =( I'm not too sure if I used it for more than a month, because my breakouts weren't getting any better.

However, I will be giving it another try... once I buy another brush head. It's been collecting dust for a year or two. =|

@ Jane A-It could be the cleanser you were using at the time.

@Nancy - Thats a good point. I think Ill go ahead and buy it. I The Olay doesnt have any sort of timer and its battery operated. I think one good thing about it is you can change the speed on it, but I never use anything but the lowest speed. I never really saw drastic improvement in my skin, thats why I want to try the Clarisonic.

Hey Marty... when I got it, it came with 3 sample Clarisonic fash washes. I can't remember what, maybe 1 for normal skin, 1 for dry, and 1 for oily/combination. I think I tried the oily/combination, then the normal... then when I realize it worked with any cleanser (yeah I was naive, lol), I bought Purity. I used it with Purity because I saw that Sephora was doing a package deal, so I thought why not try it out. I could've sworn I used up a whole bottle of the Purity before I gave up on the Clarisonic. It wasn't the biggest bottle of Purity, but it wasn't a sample size either... so I thought I "tested" the Clarisonic out long enough.

What another poster Mandy mention was cleaning off the brush head with antibacterial soap after each use. I think that could've been the trick. I assumed while washing my fash, the brush head was cleaning itself too. Well, after I gave it a good rinse with just water afterwards.

Hopefully when I use it again, it will have a better outcome for me. =)

Oh and yeah, I waited 24 hours before using it the first time. =)

The beeping makes me 100% accountable - no matter how tired I am. Almost as if it were giving me permission to move on to the next area. Forehead, nose/chin, cheek & cheek. So darn simple. The improvement that I see is because I stick with the entire cycle. The sonic action gently exfoliates only whats ready to lift off, therefore you always have freshest skin cells on top and without dead skin getting in the way, your products work to their fullest potential.

I so want to cheat and try it but, I will be good and wait 24 hrs! Omg... that means tomorrow at 4:30, ughhh! Grrr!

1 full charge lasts forever. I use mine 2 times a day and I get 2 - 3 weeks from it. (I have the full size BCA model.)

It does last forever. It's been a while since I used it... right now it's in a drawer collecting dust. I turned it on a few days ago, and it started working. I was like wow... it's been FOREVER since I last charged it.

I got mine for Christmas from my (awesome) boyfriend and I can't imagine living without it now. It makes my skin super soft and smooth, so much so that I can skip foundation most days. It just leaves me with an amazing glow. I have combo skin, though, and it does tend to dry my cheeks out if I use it too often, but a good moisturizer will take care of that.
I've tried the Olay thing, but it really just doesn't do as great a job. I used that one first to remove my makeup and then followed it up with my Clarisonic Mia and there was still makeup left on my face that the Mia picked up. I highly recommend it over the Olay tool if you can afford it.

Does this mean I don't have to charge my clarisonic everyday and if so how do you know when to charge it before it completely dies out? Well I guess I will know right? duhhh!!! lol. And what's the difference between the pro and the plus? Which is better?

Apr 15, 2011

Court M.

@Marty Your clarisonic should have two lights on the back side (opposite side from the on/off button) and when you're clarisonic needs a charge it should have a yellow light (as opposed to the regular green light).

Hope that helps!

Mine beeps to let me know it's time for a charge before it dies. It gives me about 3 more uses before it will not turn on and I am forced to charge it.

I am tempting for this to be my next beauty splurge!

Just know it doesn't work for everyone!

I bought the Mia bc everyone was raving about it and it made me breakout so badly for 2.5 weeks so I just stopped using it.

so BEWARE. everyone raves about it, but I have heard similar stories to mine.
