You're going to be in some great cities and will be able to easily find a Sephora or an Ulta. If you can, definitely try to get to one instead of the drugstore. You'll have so much more fun! Brands that are great to explore: Too Faced, Illamasqua, Nars, Urban Decay, MAC, Make Up Forever... there are lots of great ones, but those are all a good place to start. When you visit the shops, you can test stuff out to see what you like.

Avoid Rimmel mascaras. Try lipstick from Revlon! They have so many colors to choose from.

Try to check out a Sephora store, they carry the YSL glossy lip stain which I cannot praise highly enough! Its never drying, never smudges, lasts through a meal ( so long as it isnt really greasy food) and has a huge color pay off! Its a bit pricey but IMO its completly worth it

If you can go to a sephora, take some bobbi brown corrector or concealer, depending on which one you prefere. I like in Canada and i'm so mad i cant have this brand here! I just ran out of my corrector last week and i'm dying right now! They are the best concealer in the world! I know you didn't say you need one but check this out if you can go to a sephora store!

Cover Girl doesn't have the best makeup, but they do have one of the best sellers in mascara, CG Lash Blast. The reviews speak for themselves! Also, as a mascara junkie, one of my faves is the CG Lash Perfection. Otherwise, there are some great suggestions above :)

Avoid Covergirl and Loreal! (Cover Girl is just gross, and Loreal is a huge market for testing on animals)

if your mainly sticking to drugstores, revlon and maybelline are the best drugstore brands in my opinion. revlon has good foundation, they just came out with the revlon colorstay whipped foundation that is amazing! they also have liquid colorstay foundation thats also very good, and ive heard good things about their lipsticks. maybellines mascaras are awesome, my favorite is the lash stilleto volumtious. their color tattoo eyeshadows are the best, and last forever. and i also really like their baby lips chapsticks. other than those brands, sally hansen has really good, pretty cheap nail polish. milani has good bluhes. i would suggust to just stay away from covergirl... and a lot of beautylish girls would agree with me on that! hope this helps, and have fun on your trip! :)

Hey :) I'm coming to the USA next week, and I could sure use some help from you girls living there. I live in Norway, and we don't have many make-up brands to choose from, most of it is quite pricey as well.
I need a new mascara, and I want a good lipstain and lipstick as well. Do you have any recommandations for my? If so, that would be great! Also; any brands/products I should stay away from?
