Okay, so my bathroom doesn't have a medicine cabinet just a flat mirror and my vanity only has 2 small drawers. Right now I have my brushes in vases and make up in a wicker basket. I'm about to have some time on my hands so I'll be able to do some DIY. I'll be able to do something really cute. I'd like some suggestions.

Really, it depends on the overall size of your bathroom. You could easily find an old banged up cabinet and renovate it into a cute vintage medicine cabinet and possibly even remove the flat mirror from the wall, replacing it with the restored cabinet, and, without wasting the mirror, attach it to the door of the cabinet. This way you have all the wall space you originally had, while adding a flare of your own personality to your room. As for the mirror itself, you could just as easily grab some super glue, rhinestones, glitter, and craft paint and spice that up as well.

As far as storage space in your vanity, that's what really is affected by the size of the bathroom. How much space do have to work with? If you don't have a lot of floor space, you could make some medium hight shelves, upholster them with a cute fabric that matches your color scheme, and decorate some cute baskets and small storage boxes to hold all of your things

My bathroom is pretty small for a master bath. About the size of an average guest bath. I don't want it do anything permanent for when we sell this house. I have maybe a foot of space on one side and even less on the other on my counter.

I have this shelf setup that's above my toilet, it reaches all the way to the floor and just has 3 rows of shelves that go up. I use it for shampoo/conditioner/other toiletry storage, but you could utilize that space for something else. I wouldn't recommend keeping your makeup in the bathroom because the moisture isn't good for most cosmetics, but if it's working for you then keep on truckin'. Check out Pinterest too, that's the jam for DIY and crafty ideas. Good luck!
