Yes!!! 1,000 calories a day is not good for you or anyone else for that matter. That is starvation mode for your body.

Yes, its way too little. Aim for 1,600 calories a day. My nutritionist always tells me to count carbs first.

1,000 is starving yourself.
1,200 calories is the lowest/minimum for any human being.

Oh also, for exercize i know its hard, but anaerobic work outs are MUCH more effective! Cardio works wonders for weight loss. Easier workouts can send the wrong signals to your body, and low cal intake will just put you into stavation mode, making it harder to lose weight. Anaerobic work outs put you into more of a survival mode, so food becomes muscle and energy, not fat to be stored for later. Good luck!

Its all about what you eat and what you do, not so much about callories. But 1000 is much too low for anyone, let alone a teen ( you're still growing, even if you dont get taller, your nervous system is not fully developed till you reach your early twenties!)
Just eat right, keep portion size in mind, varry your exercize routine ( zumba is super fun!) and WATER, drink lots of water!

I would say if your trying to lose weight I won't calorie basic it. Because if you aren't getting enough food it will cause the fat to stay. So I would go on a detox for 1-2 days to clean you body out and just eat health and exercise for 45-1hour a day. It will work.

Far too low. I'm an adult and have done that and made myself ill before. As you're a teen you're still growing. As Edie said, make the right choices :)

1,000 is wayyyy too low. It's not so much about watching the calories, as making sure that they're good calories. For example, eating 1000 calories at McDonald's is bad, but 1,000 calories of fruit, veggies, and other good stuff is important. Don't starve yourself, just make the right choices.

Yes, especially since you're a teen, and especially if you do any kind of physical activity or sport. If you're wanting to cut your calories back start slow, and ask your doctor. They know your body better than most and can give you a good range to stick in.

Yes.. I'd say at least 1,500 especially since you're a teen.

Is 1,000 calories a day too little for a 5'6" 135lbs teen?
