So I just started using a sulfate-free shampoo(Kenra) a few weeks ago and I'm not really sure that I like it... I used to wash my hair every-other-day at the MOST, now my hair is greasy by the end of the first day and my scalp is REALLY itchy. It seems like my hair isnt getting clean. I was using Biolage ColorCare for years and I've used other Kenra products with no side effects. So is there some kind of "adjustment period" for sulfate-free shampoo or something?? Has anyone else used this product?

I haven't used it, but I imagine the reason you find your hair greasy is because without the sulfate, the shampoo doesn't strip your hair of so many natural oils. I had the same experience when I started using sulfate free shampoos. I have fairly dry hair, it's coarse as well, so I was taken off guard when I found that I had to wash my hair everyday, or at least use baby powder on it(I'm cheap).
If you do find that you like it, and want to keep using it but don't want to wash every day, I recommend getting a dry shampoo, or doing what I do and sprinkle a bit of baby powder(unscented, unless you want to smell like baby) on the roots and then brush it out with a boar brush.

Sulfate-free shampoos definitely take some getting used to! I've used quite a few brands over the past year, and they all have pretty much the same properties:
1) lack of foam/lather
2) hair becomes "squeaky" during and after wash
3) hair feels stringy when drying/dried
4) hair somehow seems to get oilier faster
It really does take some getting used to, but just keep in mind that the crazy changes you're experiencing with sulfate-free shampoos is just a sign that your hair is getting rid of all the product that it's accumulated over the years. Like Shyla above, dry shampoos and baby powders were my best friends for the first few months!

Sulfate is what makes the shampoo foam and it's a surfactant that traps the oil. Without it, it makes sense that your hair seems more oily. I use the L'Oreal EverSleek sulfate-free shampoo and I actually find it to be a bit drying (the opposite problem you have). I haven't tried too many of these products yet but I think if you do some research and trial and error, you'll find one that works better for your hair. O'Right Camellia oil control shampoo is great if you are experiencing oily hair. It is sulfate free and actually helps to control the sebum production on the scalp. And it smells amazing! Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Shampoo and Cream Rinse... smells amazing and your hair feels looks and smells amazing too
