Pack it on from mid shaft to ends for a good thirty minutes or an hour and then wash it out. Use it like a hair mask rather than a leave in treatment.

So you just do your normal shampoo and conditioner after? Thanks :)

I generally mix my coconut oil with other carrier oils, specifically, olive and jojoba. Coconut oil by itself dries my hair out. I do agree with what everyone else said here that you should just put it on before you wash/cond't, then style like you normally would.

I treat the ends of my hair with coconut oil, leave it in while I'm doing chores then shower it out, or I use it as a night moisturizer. I've NEVER had breaks outs from it.

Completely off the hair topic but I use coconut oil to wash my face actually...A mixture of coconut oil and castor oil...works wonders.

Does it wash off when you put it on your face? Does it leave it greasy?

It comes off with a arm wash cloth. I have oily/dry skin, such a pain. Everything leaves me too oily or too dry. I don't even have to use moisturizer after I was my face. I only use it at night though because it's more of a deep cleaning. The first few days I used it my face became very oily but a lot of people who tried it said that because your pores are no longer blocked and what not. If you search "the oil cleansing method" you'll find ho to make your on mixture to your skin. You can also use different oils as ell. Personally I love it. I break out it I don't use it on a regular basis.

Where can I get coconut oil at? Like Walmart?

I use coconut oil from Walmart on my hair, but I have to be really careful when using in it. It can become greasy and when that happens, it is a mess. So just a dab in my hands and rub it into my hair to seal in the moisture.

Like Tea & Calypso said I use Coconut Oil as part of my deep conditioner. I mix it with my Cholesterol hair conditioner, honey, & other oils such as Jamaican Black Castor Oil & Grapeseed Oil. I usually let it sit in my hair for a few hours then proceed to wash it out.

I got mine from Kroger, with a bunch of my other delightful oils! I use it as a fatty base in my body moisturizer, and I've tried it a few times on my hair. The first time, my hair looked really greasy the next day, too! But I used a lot of it. Try just dabbing some on the damaged ends at first, while you're still learning how much to use.

Does it need to be good quality or anything? Any Australians who know a good brand?

WHat about using it in your tea and such? Any recipes?

It probably wouldn't be great in tea, you know the whole oil and water thing. But it's tasty for pan frying.

@Mrs N Yeah, if you get the raw coconut oil, you pop the jar in boiling water to it melts and it's easier to distribute!

Extra virgin is suppose to be the best! I am obsessing over this on my skin! it is amazing and doing wonders for my eczema and a current allergic reaction I just endured! This will definitely be a standout for me this week on my beauty channel @ YouTube.com/graceandglamor! I picked mine up at gnc!
