I want to get this kinda of effect that Kandee Johnson just did on herself.

Instead of it being caramel colored, I would want more of a blonde look. She said for dark hair to use 30 or 40 volume developer, but I was wondering if that would get the light look I'm going for. Or do I just leave it on longer? And how long should you leave it on if you just want some choppy highlights? I don't want to leave it on too long and really damage my hair! Help!!

I dye my own hair, I dont use bleach because its more damaging. I love love Kandee's new hair, and I was actually planning on doing it on myself. When I do my highlights (I have dark brown hair) I use a 20 volume developer (although I've heard the 30 volume works better on darker hair) and leave it in for about 20 minutes. Mine comes out a light blonde. If you periodically check it, you can make sure its the colour you want. I would say just use a good conditioner and that will help the damage. Good luck!!! :)) Hope it all works out amazingly!
