Hey girls! So I wanted to start this conversation to discuss your eyebrows. I thought this would be nice for others just getting started with eyebrow grooming. Please leave your helpful tips or experiences with us! Thanks!

I guess I'll go first haha :)

So I started off getting my eyebrows waxed and that is a great option but for me, the wax made me brake out around my eyebrows. So that's when I turned to eyebrow threading. Of course I was kind of scared because I've heard that threading is WAY more painful than waxing but I decided to give it a try anyway. Presently, threading it the only way I will get my eyebrows done! It does not hurt any more than waxing does though the process is a few minutes longer than waxing takes so I think that is why there are more complaints about threading (The pressure of the thread pushing down on your skin also reduces the pain somewhat :D ) Also, threading doesn't make me brake out at all and I feel my skin is less red after getting my eyebrows threaded because threading doesn't rip off a layer of skin like waxing does. Threading will be my go-to groom for a long time! How about you?

The concealer trick also works really well if you have a few stray hairs that you want to cover up, but you don't have the time to fully groom your brows.

I get mine waxed like maybe 4 times a year. Can't afford to get them done regularly, really but every once in a while to keep them shaped then I pluck them once a weekish. I like to use a brow pencil. It's a mystery brow pencil, dunno where I got it, I've had it forever. I like brow pencils more than powder because I don't like that powdery look- pencils are more waxy so they're more natural looking to me. Another tip that's small but has really helped me out is taking a makeup wipe or a wet q-tip and wiping my brows before doing in any filling. You don't notice it but when you're doing your face makeup & eyeshadows, your eyebrows take in lots of product. If you wipe them real quick you realize you don't need as much filling in. And yeah!.. I'm an eyebrow person. Love eye brows.

My friend's mum is training to be a beautician and offered to wax my brows. I'm not sure because I don't know how much it will last and what my brows will look like afterwards :S I like shape in my brows but not super arched and really thin, and I've heard that's what they look like afterwards >_<

So I have been threading my eyebrows myself for a few months now because it helps me save money. I have always went about 3-4 months in between groomings to allow for hair growth as well as a way to make sure I am not over plucking. I recently got my hands on Argan oil and have been putting it on my eyebrows and my lashes to help them condition and grow. I love my eyebrows on thicker side, I am trying to grow them even thicker and try to let them go for 6 months to a year to grow in fuller.

I've never plucked my eyebrows in my life, I love the shape they are. I do groom them everyday but I don't use a pencil because they are already a bit too dark for my hair colour and skin. This might sound stupid, but how can I lighten them with out dying them??? :/

oh mon dieu, I have an eternal problem with my eyebrows. Sometimes they're too thick, sometimes too long or thin or something. I have to pluck them about twice a week, because they grow so fast! I also have to use a pencil because they're a little bit too light for my face and I don't want to dye them. But I still love doing everything to my eyebrows :D I use sometimes wax but usually just tweezers.

@Leeann, let me know how that works for you! I would love to have my brows grow in fuller but the serums I've been using have stopped working.

@ Skye, you can pop a little bit of creamy concealer over your brows to lighten them up, and then brush a medium brown through them to put some color back in.

Something that REALLY concerns me (for utterly superficial reasons but..man..) is OVERPLUCKED BROWS. Full brow trend or not, ALL WOMEN need to put down the tweezers sometimes. We all have natural shapes and arches and to mess with them too much takes certain natural focuses off our faces. I'm totally into modification (obviously, I'm into makeup) and doing whatever you want but I've generally noticed that a fuller brow is a nicer face. Thinner brows make noses and foreheads look bigger. Fuller brows draw more attention to the eyes and even out the entire face! I went through a terrible thin eyebrow phase and if you guys want I can post comparison photos..the difference is RIDICULOUS. My nose looked bigger and I was significantly less 'good' looking, but now that I have my eyebrows at my regular fullness (I even fill them in), just plucking stray hairs, the compliments I receive on them and the confidence and sex appeal I have personally feel I have gained is incomparable. Maybe I'm just a weird eyebrow person (I do judge people's beauty a lot by their eyebrows..lol) but I think it's kind of a general consensus that no one like the 'sperm' brow anyway.

I get mine threaded for $5 every two months. The lady chooses the brow look for me and I just roll with it.

Rather envious of those that can free-pluck and sport the au naturel

@ Mariah I have noticed some new hair growth in both my lashes and eyebrows but not exactly sure if its from the multivitamins, Argan oil, or both. I feel like its helping my lashes grow because its conditioning them

The only things I do to my brows are occasionally pluck and shave (WITH BROW RAZORS I PROMISE) around the edges and in the middle to get rid of that unibrow. I don't get them professionally done (I'd rather use that money for something else) and I cry every time I pluck so no thank you, lmao. I just don't care about my brows much. I'll leave them, for the most part, natural~

I had them waxed too once, and I, like you broke out all along my eye brow where they were waxed. 1) you could have sensitive skin. 2) you may need to drink more watter. Belive it or not it could have happened because your body may have been low in watter. 3)you could have been alergic to the type of wax that was used. Difrent shops use difrent materials.

I remove mine by useing a hair removeing cream and then tweezing away any extra fly aways.

I pluck mine and use the Maybelline Define-A-Brow pencil :)

Anyone else's eye area~ really sensitive? I want to clean my brows up (well, my tails~) but when I tweeze, I cry like a crazy baby. It just hurts too much so I end up only doing maybe up to three hairs a day, hahahah. Tips? Doing it after bathing/showering doesn't really help me at all. x]

I just bought the clear mascara from Maybelline to brush through my eyebrows, do any of you use a clear or tinted gel on your eyebrows after filling them in?

I used to get my eyebrows waxed every two weeks. Then it became every four weeks and gradually I stopped waxing them altogether. I just couldn't afford it anymore, plus I read that all the waxing can lead to wrinkles and other skin problems (which makes sense when you really think about it.)

Currently, I still don't wax them, and thanks to an eyebrow tutorial by Kandee Johnson, I can do them myself and I'm even more satisfied now than I was when waxing! I usually, really, sit down and do them maybe every two-three weeks. Once a week I usually have to do a bit of plucking.

When I sit down and do them, I use a spoolie, small scissors, an eyebrow razor and tweezers. (I use tweezers and scissors from Revlon, which are INCREDIBLE!) I start out by brushing my brows in place and using the razor to get rid of the little hairs surrounding my brows. I then use the spoolie to brush them up and I start trimming the hair with the scissors. Once I trim the hair to the length I want, I pluck whatever is needed.

The main reason I changed my eyebrow shape (only by a bit though, nothing drastic) was to suit my face. I have a roundish face, so sharper edges and a bit more arch help to balance my face out :)
