Should Men wear makeup? Of course! Now I am not talking about on a daily basis...but there are certain occasions when even men want and should put their best foot forward! I am a firm believer that everyone should look their BEST!! Do you honestly think that our favorite Hollywood Hunks walk the red carpet with bare faces??!!
I am not implying that men should wear mascara, eye shadow etc.. but blemishes, under eye circles, uneven skin tones show up even more in photos. I love it when a groom is brave enough to ask me to "improve" his look!
Here are my tips on men's makeup. If you have never done a "natural" look on a man, hire a makeup artist who has experience with men. A "one on one" class is a great way to learn the basics.
Start by covering any blemishes, purplish under eye circles, or red splotches with a green undertone. Be sure to blend this out to a minimal. Then cover these areas with a concealer or light cream based foundation, matching the skin tone as closely as possible. I prefer to not use a concealer on men, as it has a tendency to show more than foundation. Blend this very well! Next cover the entire face sparingly with foundation and make sure to carefully blend at the neck and hairline! If you use too much foundation or it is not properly blended, it will show!
Next comes the eyebrows... There is no excuse for a uni-brow or unsightly bushy eyebrows! Make sure to do any tweezing, waxing, or use of hair removal products 2-3 days before the big event, in case of any skin irritation. While doing the makeover, eyebrows should be properly groomed with an eyebrow brush and if needed, filled with a touch of eye shadow. When choosing the color shadow, make sure to find a color slightly lighter than your natural eyebrow color. Afterward apply a bit of loose powder on the nose and forehead if needed. Don't forget any shinny or oily areas. As a finishing touch, go over your lips with chap stick, which will bring out you natural lip color.

I wouldn't be freaked out if a guy wore concealer. But foundation, eye shadow to fill in the brows....idk. That's a bit much. But to each it's own.

I have absolutely no problem with it! Makeup is fantastic, why shouldn't everyone get to play with it? I'm a big fan of playing with gender/androgyny so men in makeup are right up my alley.

I have a few male friends that wear eyeliner, lipgloss, mascara and sometimes when we go out they make me feel like the ugly princess because they look so freakin' flawless. Now if my man wore it...there would be a serious problem. He wears a goatee and has sun damage so on him it would be a definite NO.lol

I cannot believe how judgmental some people are. Now, I'm not naming anyone in particular because I see it everywhere, and your opinion is your opinion. But if someone wants to wear make up, they damn well could. If someone wanted to do ANYTHING that isn't "accepted by society" boohoo, they can do it.
I'm sorry if my response seems a little abrupt, but I just get pretty defensive on topics like this because I basically live in a judgmental and superficial community and a lot of people I know are afraid to express themselves. But if someone disagrees with me then that's fine. That's your opinion and I respect that.

My boyfriend has a concealer which he sometimes uses to cover pimples if he has any.. He also uses chapsticks:) He's very into his appearance, so he has a lot of clothes, shoes, accessoires and perfumes. I love it! It only gets annoying if he takes longer to get ready than me:)

Well I always ask should women wear makeup, too. Should anybody wear makeup? Why do we? Ahah. My stance on it is me personally, I don't use makeup to feel comfortable- I don't use it to look my best- I don't use it to try to attain beauty standards. I use it because I like it. I understand that what I'm doing is kind of giving into society's idea of what girls SHOULD do or else they're undesirable. That's what makeup is usually for. But I understand that. And I don't think women should feel the need to use makeup. So same with guys! Guys don't have to. Women don't have to. But if we want to- let's do it! And make it artsy. You know? We can't be sexist like "No, men can't wear makeup! That's gross." I mean- we're all born without makeup. That's how we naturally are. So you'd think if you thought men wearing makeup is gross- you'd feel the same way about girls too. But anyways, you just have to think outside of the box. Makeup isn't a big deal. Anyone should be able to use it but shouldn't feel the need to.

Dude, men should totally wear makeup if they want to. They should be able to wear concealer, or eyeshadow, or eyeliner however often they want to. I think it would be great! I mean, I went to the mall the other day, and the guy working at the MAC store was wearing makeup and I thought he was fabulous! Oh, and I wouldn't mind if my boyfriend decided to wear makeup either. He'd probably never wear makeup, but It wouldn't matter to me if he did ;O

Makeup is a tool. It should be considered available to anyone who is interested. It can be used in so many ways-- to correct and even out skin-tones or as a means of self-expression, and everything in between.
I adore learning about new techniques and love seeing other people do the same and share their knowledge.
It's neither for men nor women. It's for everybody!

If makeup helps anyone feel more confident, expressive, or happier, I think it shouldn't matter male or female. Most men aren't even aware of what makeup can do for them, and I suspect if they were and they knew how to apply it so it was unnoticeable, they would be receptive to it. It's more about educating :)

I think men should be able to use makeup! I hide behind my makeup bc of my battle with acne. So why shouldn't my bro hide his as well since he is battling acne as well. I have put makeup on him to cover his flaws. It doesn't change my opinion on him or make him any less of a man. But men have flaws like we do and they have a right to conceal them like we do.

Men have been wearing make up for centuries from the Pharaohs to stage actors. In film and television its common practice. In moderation I don't see an issue, as long as the individual is happy wearing make up then its no issue. When it comes to application or look it depends on what the person wants and feels comfortable with from concealer to full make up. Judgement lies in the wearer.
