I have natural blonde hair but it has darkened over the years. I go to the salon and get it bleached and/or lifted (depending on visit) with a very light blonde hair color. Seems no matter what, my roots and ends get really really light but the middle of my length has very slgiht golden color to it. Has anyone used any of Paul Mitchell's Forever Blonde line? The Platinum shampoo (purple), the regular shampoo or the conditioner? Will the REGULAR blonde shampoo in this picture actually ligten my blonde more? Including help pull up the golden (not so brassy). I know the purple will help in some cases but isn't for daily use. Reviews, routines, ideas and ANYTHING would be appreciated.  Thanks!

Honestly, you need a new hair dresser. If she/he would have done it right in the first place the ends and the "middle" would be the same color, the only hard part would be the roots. Sometimes it's not so easy to get the same color, you should never have the choice to lighten or lift the color you use either or. It shouldn't depend on the visit and that's the exact reason your hair doesn't match.

Well I made the mistake of waiting a year between colorings...and the first 2 times he did my hair turned out great...but ever since , it just does t lift right...we bleach , then put a blonde over that...and I do feel he is rushing now a days...like he knows I'm sucked in as a customer...I purchased these at a different place also ( you can see the receipt) lol. but I am not given the choice , but the 3rd time he didnt bleach and it was definitely darker. I was not happy. Now is my fourth.

Maybe he's mad at you for not coming in but it's defiantly not helping him in any way to not do what you ask of him. Your a walking billboard. I suggest you find a new stylist, a high lift, which is what he probably used the 4th time is so unpredictable I wish they would just stop making it!

Or whatever the terms are lol...

That is a line of demarcation. It's created when two different colors are used. For example, say you colored your hair with a 7M. And the next time you went to the salon, your roots were touched up with a 7N. It may look VERY similar, but obviously over time you will see a difference. Like in your picture. Hence the "line" of demarcation. I'm a cosmetologist btw :) I hope I helped.

Bleaching and lifting are technically the same thing. You use bleach to lift the color. No such thing as a lifter lol.

Bleach and high lift are not the same thing. I'm a cosmetologist as well and if it were the same thing they would be categorized both as bleaches, which in the Cosmo world are known as lifters, as you know. Hugh lift will lift the color two shades (usually) bleach can lift up to 4 shades, not recommended but you can, you can also control bleach, high lift is unpredictable. And no offense but duh there's going to be a line of demarcation he used bleach and high lift, once again proving my point bleach and high lift are not the same thing or her hair would match.

High* and sorry if that came off rude but what you wrote is completely not true about bleach and high lift. And the line of demarcation is what her post is about..?? What her post was intended for was to try an get rid of the lines.

It proves the exact same purpose. This "high lift" you are talking about lifts MORE than bleach does, as you know.

I was trying to explain it to someone that obviously isn't a cosmetologist. It was directed towards the one who posted this, not you :)

It does not lift more than bleach! Don't tell her that if its not true.
If it lifts more than bleach why are her roots darker?? That's the high lift, why isn't it lighter than the bleach? Because it doesn't lift as much as bleach. I don't care if you weren't directing it to me, I'll comment to you if I want.

However I'm not going to argue with you. I've seen you on quite a few posts and I'm just going to add your make up looks are amazing. I just do not agree with what your saying right now.

Umm.. What? Haha. H
This high lift you're talking about is double 40. All they do is add ammonia making you think it's some amazing invention. How did you pass state board? Lol

Thanks I guess? I just didn't appreciate the way you came at me. I'm nothing but nice and helpful to all you girls on here. I've never been disrespected to the point where I acted out of character. ✌

$rm sorry if I confused anyone. :( I'm more so now I think. thank you so much for taking your time w me though. Just to add, I never touch up my roots only. He would run them throgh the rest of my hair. But maybe not enough? as in he saturated my roots are more with the bleach ect?

That shampoo line won't make your hair blonder, although it will tone the brassiness out of it.

Hmmm guess its worth a shot, payed buy 1 get 2 free.lol. now to know what I should do when I goto a new hair stylist for my color.

I'm not acting out of character, I'm speaking the truth now your just being rude, how did I pass state board? Is there any questions about high lift on state board?? Did you take the test? All I do on here is help as well and give my opinions and the fact here is the high lift messed her hair up. It's darker, when it should be lighter. So now, since you know everything please tell me why her hair is dark on top and light on bottom...when I guess high lift is "double 40". Ammonia is in all hair lightners. I'm done 😂😂😂

Basically... just use the same thing when you get a touch up.

A lot of the times you can get your hair done & it'll be exactly the way you want it when you walk out that day. Over time the toners that once evened out your hair will fall out, since toners are semipermanent. If you have hair history of doing different colors its inevitable for the the lines of demarkation to pop slightly through after time goes by. Was your hair uneven as soon as you got out of your stylists chair? If it was even when you first got it done maybe check your hair regimen, something must be making the color follicles fall out. (I.e. hot water in the shower, sun exsposure, drugstore hair products, sulfates, pool chlorine etc...) good luck girl!

Lol it's actually not. We must be talking about two completely different things because I know what I'm talking about. Good night hun :)

Yes it was like tnis when I left salon. actually more noticeable. he said it would lighten a bit more. thank you so much for trying to help me out :)

Of course! It must have been just a off day for formulation. Maybe he wanted to see if the highlift would work better in your case, highlifts can be found less damaging to the hair than lightener. I'm sure your hairdresser was just trying to do you some good. Maybe just tell em the lightener suites you better than the highlift ;)
