So I have been reading up on different natural ways to help with acne and skin care I have read about honey for a while so I finally gave it a try last night! I did a mask of just raw honey and left it on for 20 min! I noticed my face was a lot smoother and softer! anyone else have an experience with honey? or have any other natural remedies!?

Personally I've never used honey but the advice I do have is to make sure to do a patch test if you do want to try it because your skin can have a reaction to honey even if you're not allergic to it.

Honey is a wonderful addition to your skincare routine provided you are not allergic to either the natural enzymes present or the flowers it was made from. It contains small amounts of various antioxidants, enzymes, amino acids, and minerals that your skin can actually absorb, and also functions as both a slight occlusive and humectant, making it great for use as part of the last step in your routine.

Personally, I mix it with a thicker moisturizer in about a 50/50 ratio and apply it as the final step of my nighttime routine anywhere my skin needs the extra TLC and basically sleep in it.

You will get the best results with dark, raw, unfiltered honey; this has the most active enzymatic/antioxidant ability. I get mine off of Amazon.

I love honey for the skin as well!! I suggest keep using it! Personally it has not really cleared up my acne or anything, however I have only used raw honey, not manuka honey which may show better results because it's more antimicrobial I believe. But raw honey has done wonders for soothing irritation and dryness on my skin, which helps prevent my acne from spreading. I also mix brown sugar and honey for a natural lip scrub, way better than buying expensive little lip scrub pots that many brands sell!
