I live in Arizona, and yesterday it was already 98 degrees. Summer comes quickly here, and by next month, the average should be about 101 to 105. During the really hot months it gets to be around 111 on a daily basis. Do you all have any favorite products (makeup or skincare) that will help me out. I'm on a budget, so that is a big deal. I have oily skin, which isn't helpful in this heat. I use the DermaE Anti-Blemish Complex Facial Wash and Alba Botanica Acne Dote Deep Clean Astringent. Thanks! ❤️

I feel your pain. I live in New Orleans and get not only heat, but humidity as well. I never wear foundation, but find that waterproof anything-I-can-find is useful. Also, anything that can be touched up on the go is a big plus.

I live in Arizona, am on a budget, and have oily skin too. I use: Rimmel Stay Matte primer, loreal infallible pro matte foundation, and then on top of that I use Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. Then goes contour (e.lf. powder palette or wet and wild, depending on how much money I have), NYX highlight and then NYX matte setting spray. For eyebrows I love NYX tame and frame. Maybelline lasting drama gel eyeliner doesn't move around at all on my eyelids and w7 eyeshadows (on amazon) are great too. Then for controlling oil I found a face mask on Amazon: Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay.

I almost forgot, Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer is one that, as long as there's powder on top (for me anyways) it won't transfer.

Thanks Sara! I'll be sure to try those out! I love the Aztec Healing Clay, but I don't use it enough. I'll definitely be using it more as it gets hotter.

On hot summer days in Colorado's dry heat (they get up past 100 easy too) I like to carry cucumber or rose water to spray throughout the day. since you are oily try to carry blotting papers with you to help with and in between touchups. Mehron makes a wonderful anti-sweat skin prep for makeup that's only about 15$ I would really suggest. if I know it's going to be a sweaty day, summer or not, I'll use PPI blue marble instead of my normal setting spray (ben Nye final seal, which is also really good for heat but not as good) because it has that extra oomph. depending on the size it's 14-24$ (and they have a green, alcohol based version for sfx and more intense conditions. you need an alcohol based cleanser for that though.) I use the setting spray before as prep, between layers, and then after to really hold everything. ben nyes neutral set powders have a sweat retardant in them and are on the less expensive side so you may find those helpful for setting things. generally keep to powders for longetivity as a rule.
for skin care I like embryolisse's hydra matte version and pure castor oil for oil control. the castor oil seems counterintuitive but it's actually a wax that helps decrease sebum production while being noncomodogenic.

as general tips I would spot test anything new for a reaction, the less of everything you are comfortable wearing the better things will hold up, and keep in mind that makeup that manages to last through heat and sweat will need serious care to remove all the way. I think a lot of people forget the extra effort has to be on both ends of the process.

My workday / having to face people routine is: moisturizer, sunscreen, BB cream / light mousse foundation across the centre only, light dusting of mineral powder across the centre only, mascara, bit of brow colour, tinted lip balm. My at home routine is: moisturizer, sunscreen, tinted lip balm.

I agree with waterproof everything - so that you don't sweat off all your makeup - also less is best - just wearing less products overall will prevent it all from caking up when you sweat in the heat - I usually just wear a lightweight bb cream with medium coverage and use a waterproof concealer on my problem areas if I feel like I need more coverage - set it all with a small amount of powder then spray with setting spray to keep it all in place and I can usually get my makeup to last 5-6 hours even if it's hot/humid - also stains and cream products work better in the heat than powder products
