I love a good gimmick and I admit I'm totally sucked in by the idea of a PH changing lipstick. Lipstick Queen's Frog Prince looks green in the tube and supposedly turns pink in a shade that balances with your PH. It's probably hooey but I'm really curious about it.

Anyone tried it yet? Thoughts?  Pics?

I've heard it's incredibly sheer and nobody I follow on social media uses it consistently.

I'm not a chemist but I can tell you based on what I know about skin that even if it does react with your specific PH that doesn't mean you'll be getting a very unique color because your skin regulates its own PH very precisely, and only very compromised skin has a significantly different PH.

Good to know. The packaging is cute and it looks so fun, but I figured it had to be hype.

I read that it was the type of dye they use that responds to lips warmth and moisture verses pH. It reminds me of those cute mood rings from way back when...haha I think it's a fun idea, but the shade looks, in my eyes, identical on everyone.

That said, the brand makes nice, creamy lipstick, but I'm not big on transfer. I have a Lipstick from them I was gifted from their "Chess" collection in "Queen" I believe, and it a beautiful color, but does transfer a LOT. TheIr formulas have Vitamin E in them, so they are emollient. It's kind like a treat for lips if you run, but you won't get staying power. I think this is more a balm, but inexpensive...lol If it tinted the lips to stain them, then I'd say it was worth the price.

If you have points at ULTA, I know they sell it. (You can't use coupons though for it.)
But if you want to have some fun and try a dupe, "Fran Wilson" has a bunch of "Mood" lipsticks for $4 each if you want to play around and you can get 5 colors for the price of 1 of those Frog Prince Lipsticks. I think these are actually stains as well.

I've been dying to try one out just for kicks because I love a long-wearing lip. :P

I haven't tried the particular one you're asking about. However, I've tried the Twist Stick Lip Color by the MoodMatcher brand Rozberry mentioned! They aren't the product she linked, but they are the same brand and also found on that website. I actually really like them! I found them at discount stores like TJ Maxx. They really do change color, and they do leave a tinted stain on the lips. The twist stick is more like a regular lipstick crayon type product consistency, so it will transfer. I'd love to try the kind Rozberry linked though because it sounds like those don't transfer!

I've never tried lipstick queens brand but I do use givenchy rouge interdint vinyl lipstick in #16 noir revelateur, it is a black lipstick that also adjusts to your ph and it is absolutely beautiful and super moisturizing as well, lasts pretty long and makes my lips feel wonderful. As for the color it on different people ranges from a light to a dark berry it's one of my favorites.

I love Lipstick Queen lipsticks. I've got Frog Prince and keep a tube in my purse and one on my vanity. If you want to give it a try, Elf makes a similar Lipstick for $6. It turns the same color, but it takes a little longer for the color to develop.

I picked up three Lipstick Queen lipsticks last week. (Not frog prince).

Cupid’s Bow/Ovid: Lipliner/lipstick. Makes a nice everyday red, matte finish, stays on well. The liner comes with a sharpener. It has a nice nourishing base that doesn’t dry out my lips. I used it as as lipliner with a full lipstick and it made a really nice, longwearing, dramatic red.

Velvet Rope/black tie: I admit I bought this because of the packaging. When I was a kid my mother’s best friend went to New York and brought back a Halstone lipstick in a gold tube as a present for her. My mother kept eeked every speck of that lipstick out over the years and then couldn’t bear to throw away the tube when it was finally gone. That was what I was thinking of when I splurged on this. The packaging is amazing, properly heavy with a magnet in the end so that it comes together with a satisfying click. The color is absolutely perfect for what I wanted--a maroon-leaning red. The lipstick is quite sheer for as pigmented as it is. One easy coat covers my lips. On untreated lips this stayed on really well and didn’t dry out or bother me. With my lips conditioned and a liner underneath this worked really well as a long-wearing, dramatic red.

Jungle Queen: I’ve had my idea on this lipstick every summer for years and finally broke down and got it. The packaging is gorgeous, it’s a teal green metallic tube with hot orange writing. It’s an elegant container for a fun, summer lipstick. This shade is almost identical to NYX, Butter, Fireball, which I have and swatched side by side with Jungle Queen. I really couldn’t tell the two apart.

I got all three of these for reduced price on Amazon. I don’t think it’s a grey market scheme as all the reviews are decent and the product seems authentic. I wonder if the lipsticks aren’t Department Store overstock. The lipsticks were all unused, but the packaging did seem as if it had been opened and was worn in the corners as if it had been in a drawer with other boxes.
