Since it is a piercing, yes, it will hurt lol. It's a needle going through your skin.

I have my rook pierced and out of all 8 of my ear piercings it was DEFINITELY the most painful but also the most difficult to heal. even now, 18 months later, it flares up every so often. I love it so I don't mind but I'd just be mindful that it can heal differently on different body types. I normally have no problems but this one can be a total pain.

I've had my rook piercing for 5-6 years and have never had a problem with it. It didn't hurt at all for me but I do have a high pain tolerance (I have 14 piercings). Just like Alex said, make sure you go to an APP approved piercer!
