Hey guys, I've been on the hunt for a new cleanser.. I have moderate acne only on my chin and forehead and I wanted yalls input on the best cleansers you have tried to clear breakouts.. I have sensitive, combo skin... also keep in mind that for some reason salicylic acid does nothing for me!!🙁 I have a benzoyl peroxide treatment which is working fine, but I am on the hunt for a new cleanser.

I have been changing out my cleansers for a while. I use them for a couple months to see if they work and it not I change. my newest one is more natural tea tree oil cleanser. it's working great so far but I've only use it for a week. it is drying but I also use a toner that I'd hydrating and a moisturizer. I'll let you know how it goes for me

Thing to note: Most salicylic acid products on the market are complete rubbish. It's pointless to put into a cleanser, harmful when used with an alcohol based toner and the rest of them are just not formulated at a PH for it to function as an acne treatment.

The ones from Paula's Choice are fantastic and should really be your gauge for whether or not SA actually agrees with your skin.

As for cleanser, you don't need to use a product that's labeled as an acne fighting cleanser. What you need is one that's appropriate for your skin type that does its job effectively and gently.

For sensitive, combo skin I'd highly recommend the Olay Gentle Clean Foaming Cleanser; I'm currently on my backup of the Eucerin Hydrating Foaming Face Wash while I wait for my Olay bundle to come back on Amazon.

When I was 25, I developed a case of severe cystic acne mostly on my cheeks but at times it appeared on other areas around my face as well. I tried the usual suspects and finally broke down and saw a dermatologist who put me on various antibiotics as well as topical treatments and it still didn't clear up. It actually worsened. Even cortisone injections directly into the pimples didn't do much. It was awful.

Then I found a drug store product called Acne Free. It's very similar to ProActiv in that it's a three step cleanser, toner, and moisturizer formulated for acne treatment. It cleared up my skin so quickly and better yet, permanently. It seems to have grown in popularity because I see it being sold in Walmart whereas I used to only be able to get it in certain drug stores.

Of course different skin will react differently to products so I'm just telling you what worked for me. But it was practically a miracle for my acne after I'd almost given up hope.

Good luck finding a product that is right for you! :)

I use the CeraVe Foaming cleanser. It's geared toward normal-oily skin (I have combo, sensitive skin). It keeps my face really clean and it's affordable. Also, if you use make up, be sure to clean your instruments.

Hi!
I have the exact same problem as you , and for a long time I also thought salicylic acid wasn't working.. but the thing is, you're using it wrong!

Maybe you've used it in cleansers but with a bunch of other chemicals in!
The ideal for me, ( and I also have sensitive skin ) is organic stuff.
Try the " Yves Rocher " unclogging Organic aloe Vera and salicylic acid 2 in 1 cleanser. While I use it, I also add 1 drop maxi of pure tea tree oil.
It works wonders, but be careful at first to not use it day and night because it could be harsh for your skin.
Progressively change your rhythm in time.
You'll see! It works amazingly!!
I had horrible acne before, but now all I have are scars!
