I've heard sugar, honey, and lemon juice works fantastic. The sugar for exfoliating...the honey to keep skin soft..and the lemon juice to brighten up complexion. Though I think it's better if you wet the skin and just scrub the sugar dry on the wet skin. That way it still remains as an exfoliator.

The St. Ives exfoliant is made out of kernels that aren't finely granulated. The kernels actually end up tearing your skin in the long run causing more damage. It's good on other parts of the body, just not the face. You should also exfoliate no more than 2x a week.

Be very careful of over exfoliating your skin. It may seem fine now but later on down the line the skin will be a lot thinner and prone to burning, broken capillaries and will look a lot dryer as you age.

I do a glycolic peel every other week and I use glycolic acid pads every other day. I use a face cloth in the shower to lightly scrub my face. I also use yonkas micro peel every so often. My skin is always very soft and I rarely get pimples.

If you use sugar, honey and lemon juice what are the ratios? Is it 1:1:1? Are salt scrubs good? If so, does anyone have a good recipe?

Add coffee grinds to your fab cleanser 2-3x a week, (after you've made the coffee) the caffeine soothes skin and its a cheap exfoliant

I don't buy exfoliating products I find them to be a waste of money (no offence). I make my own exfoliating product using just sugar and olive oil or just sugar on its own. It works wonders and removes all the dead skin cells. It has also helped me fade away any acne scars or marks.

I use amore pacifics enzyme powder. It's pricey but lasts a year and is super gentle since there are no abrasives.

For my body I mix my bodywash with sugar and oats. It isn't harsh on my skin and leaves it smooth. For my face I use the Simple gentle face scrub.

I like the Microdelivery Exfoliating Wash from Philosophy and Ocean Salt from Lush. I also use the Olay Pro-X (the bootleg version of the Clarisonic) twice a day and I feel that it's a gentle way to exfoliate without scrubbing. I typically use Microdelivery once a week and Ocean Salt every 2-3 weeks.

I'm a fan of the microdelivery exfoliating wash from philosophy or Daily Microfoliant from Dermalogica. I like daily gentle exfoliation and either of those two work for me.
